Chapter 75 What Could I Possibly Need
Fix it? Marilyn couldn’t fix a single thing now.
But this was just the opening act. The real storm was still on its
way.
Aurelia tossed her phone into her bag.
She looked up to find Dominic staring at her, his gaze unreadable.
“What did you do this time?” he asked, his voice flat and cold.
Aurelia met his icy stare and shrugged, her tone casual and unconcerned. “What could I do? I’m just getting a little payback for what she did to me.
“After all, I went through hell at Oakridge Estate. I wasn’t about to let her get off with just a lousy apology.”
She emphasized the word apology, her voice dripping with
sarcasm.
Dominic had promised her justice. But in the end, all he’d
‘managed to scrounge up was a meaningless “sorry.” 20

The very idea of that so-called justice was laughable.
Aurelia raised an eyebrow, her eyes glinting with malice. “My life might not be worth much to you, but even half of it is worth more than a cheap apology.”
Dominic fell silent.
The sarcasm in her voice was like a knife twisting in his gut, and his breathing grew ragged, unsteady.
Aurelia turned and stepped toward the door.
Dominic’s entire demeanor turned frigid, his aura sharp enough to slice through the air.
The second she brushed past him, he grabbed her wrist, his fingers tightening like a vice. “So you’re not satisfied with the justice I gave you?”
Aurelia looked him dead in the eyes. “Your justice is perfect. It’s just a shame I’m the kind of person who doesn’t know how to be grateful.”
With that, she tried to yank her wrist free.
But he only gripped her tighter, refusing to let go.

Dominic gritted his teeth, his jaw tight with frustration. “Where are you going now?”
Last time she ran from the hospital, Jason couldn’t even track down where she went. Dominic wasn’t about to let her vanish again.
Aurelia scoffed. “Somewhere I need to be. Now let go of my arm before I make you.”
Dominic couldn’t hold back anymore. He spun her around and pulled her hard into his arms, his chest pressed against hers.
Aurelia’s breath hitched in her throat.
She tried to struggle, but he tightened his grip, trapping her against him. “Did Grant help you?”
Aurelia stayed silent.
Grant’s name had been hanging between them like a dark cloud for days now, poisoning every conversation.
She closed her eyes, her voice cold and final. “I’ll say it one more time. Let. Go.”
She wasn’t going to explain herself. She didn’t owe him any explanations.

More importantly, Dominic didn’t deserve to hear them.

Dominic’s breathing was rapid, his heart pounding against his ribs. “Didn’t I tell you? Whatever you need, just ask me, and I’ll get it done! Don’t go running to him for help.”
Aurelia shot back, her voice like shards of glass. “When I nearly died, all you did was beg for an apology from someone else. What kind of help could you possibly give me now?”
Each word cut deep, laced with ridicule that made Dominic’s blood boil.
His chest tightened, voice strained. “Things aren’t as simple as you think. Actually, I…”
Before he could mention Stanley, Aurelia cut him off.
“I wanted them to pay with their lives,” she snarled, eyes blazing. “Not only did you ignore it, you let them come after mine. So tell me, what could I possibly need from you?”
Dominic’s mouth snapped shut.
Her tongue was like a razor, slicing through every defense he had.
Aurelia’s lips curled into a cold, cruel smile. “But now?

Marilyn’s living a fate worse than death.”
With that, she shoved him away with all her strength, breaking
free of his arms.
Dominic stumbled back.
Marilyn’s in trouble? Did Grant help her do it?
The thought made him feel suffocated.
Aurelia walked out the door without a second glance.
Dominic stood there, rooted to the spot, his face dark and menacing as he watched her leave.
Her footsteps faded down the hallway, and a cold, empty feeling settled in his chest.
He pulled out his phone and dialed Jason’s number. It picked up on the first ring.
“Mr. Hawthorne.”
“How did it go?” Dominic asked.
“Madam Hawthorne and Ms. Lydia Hawthorne signed the
papers,” Jason replied. “They weren’t happy about it, but they

Dominic rubbed his temple. “Of course they did. It was about Lauren.”
“I’m heading to see Mrs. Lauren Hawthorne now, sir,” Jason said.
Dominic had planned to wait until Lauren recovered, but Aurelia’s unyielding anger had made one thing clear: he couldn’t wait any longer.
Dominic closed his eyes, his voice cold and final. “Go. And arrange one more thing.”
“What is it?” Jason asked, confused.
Dominic’s eyes snapped open. “Aurelia just went down to the parking garage. Have someone stop her.”
This time, Grant wasn’t taking her away from him.
Jason nodded. “We’ve got men stationed all over the hospital. I’ll send them down right away.”
Dominic said nothing else, hanging up the phone with a sharp click.
The second the line went dead, his phone rang again. It was Eleanor.

He answered.
“Is she never going to stop?” Eleanor shrieked, her voice shrill with rage. “Lydia and I already signed the papers! Why is she still going after Lauren’s mother?”
