Blizzard First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 286

But Julian would definitely find them.

Besides, taking Isabel was what he wanted to do all along. It was the perfect leverage to force Julian's hand.

It would be much faster than searching on his own.

But he didn't tell Alen that.

Adrian instructed Shadow to keep driving.

He knew that both Admiral Hawke and Victor Ashford would try to block them, but with Isabel in the car, they wouldn't risk any aggressive maneuvers.

This, ironically, was their opportunity.

...

A dark green Phantom had been tailing the truck the entire time.

Admiral Hawke said to Julian, "This is tricky. If we force our way through, your wife will definitely get hurt. But if we're not aggressive, we won't be able to stop them."

"Adrian must have figured that out, which is why he's speeding up."

Julian slouched in his seat, his usually sharp eyes fixed on the accelerating truck ahead.

Isabel's hand couldn't take another serious injury.

He couldn't calculate the potential consequences of a forceful interception.

And Adrian couldn't care less about Isabel's hand.

That was the most troublesome part.

"Pull up alongside them," Edmund suddenly spoke up, a small pellet pinched between his fingers. "Match the truck's speed, smash the window. I can incapacitate the driver, then we can force them to a stop slowly."

Julian glanced at the pellet in his hand and patted his son's head. "What's the rush? You'll have your moment to shine. Let's make sure your mommy is safe first."

The convoy of cars and fighter jets moved in formation, almost as if they were escorting the truck.

All the way to the airport.

The Grey Zone was far from the Fiorhaven Principality. They couldn't possibly drive there in a truck, especially with the Aurean Expanse to cross.

"You little brat."

"Mr. Reed," Admiral Hawke grumbled. "Show some respect. If the General were here..."

Julian couldn't be bothered with his lecture. He put on the mask and walked toward Isabel.

Adrian covered Isabel's mouth and nose, backing away toward the plane.

His men reacted quickly, but there was a limit to how long they could hold their breath.

Even when they donned their gas masks, they discovered this gas was different from the last time.

It could be absorbed through the skin.

Even Julian was affected. His legs grew weak, and he struggled to walk.

He gritted his teeth. "Are you trying to save her or not? How are you going to get your mommy out if you're perfectly fine?"

As soon as he said it, he saw Adrian collapse, landing on one knee.
