Blizzard, First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 300

The reporters' eyes went wide. The incessant flashing of cameras filled the room.

When Isabel finished speaking, the only sound in the hall was the frantic clicking of shutters.

But inevitably, someone raised an objection.

"Mrs. Blackw—... ma’am, you claim you developed the Y-series, but why have we never heard of this before?"

Isabel answered calmly, her faint smile never wavering. "As you know, I was married to Adrian for a time. That is why, after developing Y-1, I did not continue my research. I became a full-time housewife."

"She became a housewife..." the attendees whispered among themselves.

Isabel continued, "Perhaps many of you have never been researchers, so you may not understand the nature of the work. The hours are incredibly demanding, and I found it difficult to balance both my family and my career. Given Adrian's capabilities and success, I chose to focus on our home."

"Then why did you suddenly..." a reporter couldn't help but ask, but he trailed off, realizing his question might be too pointed.

No one knew what her current relationship with Adrian was.

And since she was standing here as the creator of X-1, it seemed unlikely she would be lying about the Y-series.

Isabel didn't seem to mind. She said, "I used to believe that my husband, my child, and my family were the most important things. But a person can't truly understand certain truths without experiencing them firsthand. For example, I can't understand a reporter's job because I've never been one. Likewise, most of you probably have no idea what it takes for a researcher like me to develop a new drug."

"So, when I realized I couldn't have the kind of married life I wanted, I chose to give it up and return to my career. Of course, that process was anything but smooth."

"I'm sure all of you here were scrambling to report on the events of that period."

This was a goldmine. The reporters were ecstatic.
