Isabel didn't sleep well, but she still got up early.

Evelyn brought breakfast and some confetti poppers. "I'll go with you later to celebrate your divorce."

"If I could have bought fireworks, and if they were allowed here, I would have totally gotten a custom display that spelled out 'Happy Divorce' in the sky."

"But it's fine, I got a drone light show instead, haha."

Isabel didn't stop her, just said thank you.

Evelyn tried the health drink again but couldn't stomach it, so she switched to a sweet soy latte. "You don't have to be so formal with me," she said.

Isabel got ready to go downstairs and meet Mr. Monroe. She told Julian, "Don't worry about me, and please don't get out of bed and move around. Otherwise, that wound of yours will split open on the plane—I don't care if it's a medical transport, it'll still tear. Even with a doctor on a private jet, it's not happening."

Julian pressed his temple. "Alright, enough nagging."

Isabel left with her arm linked through Evelyn's. Evelyn said, "Mr. Reed has an annoying mouth on him, but he's a good person and very meticulous. I feel completely at ease leaving you in his care."

"Oh, right. When you get back to Aurelia City and get your marriage license, even if you don't have a wedding, you should at least celebrate a little."

This time, the divorce will be final. You'll be marrying Julian as Isabel, and that definitely calls for a celebration.

"I've got plenty of money, so spend whatever you want."

Isabel smiled. "Okay."

Mr. Monroe was already waiting. When he saw her, he made a point of opening the car door for her.

Isabel nodded and thanked him.

"You're welcome." After they were seated, he walked around the front of the car, got into the driver's seat, and drove to the courthouse.

They arrived at the courthouse around nine-thirty. They were early.

Adrian was already at the courthouse, but he was leaning back in the rear seat of his car, not going inside. Seeing her call Daniel, he gave a cryptic smile. "She's certainly in a hurry."

Daniel was at a loss for words. Just then, the call disconnected.

Since Daniel didn't answer, it meant he and Adrian were together. Isabel sent a text to Adrian.

[Are you dragging this out just to keep things under your control? Adrian, I don't understand your methods. If I didn't know you better, I'd almost think you've fallen in love with me.]

She wasn't sure if trying to provoke him would work, but Isabel couldn't think of a better way.

[Why don't you say it to my face? If you tell me you love me, how about I don't go through with the divorce?]

Evelyn saw the message and disapproved. "What if he calls your bluff and says it? Then you're screwed, aren't you?"

Isabel replied, "He won't."
