Seeing the Knowles family standing there-stripped of their power, their confidence, their certainty-did nothing to disturb

her composure.

If anything-the sight only strengthened the quiet satisfaction settling inside her.

“What do you think you’re doing, Cassidy?” Red demanded as he stepped closer, his jaw tightening with restrained anger.

“I’m seeking justice for my mother, Mr. Knowles,” Cassidy replied politely.

Her tone was calm. Respectful. And completely devoid of warmth.

Red’s teeth clenched at the formality of her address.

“My mother bled to death,” Cassidy continued, her voice lowering.

“And traces of an anticoagulant were found in her preserved medical samples.” Her eyes hardened.

“Heparin.”

The word fell between them like a blade.

“Several empty heparin vials were recovered from the trash inside her room,” she went on coldly.

“Perhaps you believed no one would ever question what happened. Or that the household staff were too insignificant to notice something dangerous being discarded so carelessly.” A faint scoff escaped her.

“Heparin?” Red turned sharply toward his wife, confusion and alarm flashing across his face.

“I don’t know what that girl is talking about!” Rima said quickly, her voice rising as panic crept in. She grabbed Red’s arm, desperate for his belief.

“If I remember correctly, I only visited Daisy once while she was in her room. I left her under the care of the doctor and the nurse you hired. How would I even know what medication they were giving her?”

Her words came fast, almost breathless.

“Well,” Cassidy said quietly, “the doctor and the attending nurse have already submitted their sworn testimonies.”

Ríma froze.

“They both stated that the instruction to administer the anticoagulant came from you.”

Silence crashed over the group. Cassidy’s eyes locked onto Rima’s.

“You killed my mother.” Her voice did not rise. But the fury burning behind it was unmistakable.

Chapter 126

Red, Mirriam, and Rima stared at her in shock. Rima’s face drained of color, while Mirriam shook her head repeatedly, whispering denials under her breath.

“I will make sure you spend the rest of your life in prison,” Cassidy added, her gaze turning cold and lethal.

“No!” Rima shouted, her composure breaking completely.

“You don’t have any real proof! This is all fabricated! You’re making this up!”

Her voice trembled now-not with anger. But with fear.

“Then let’s see,” Cassidy said, a faint sneer touching her lips.

“I’ll be waiting to see how you defend yourself.”

Mirriam’s hands curled into fists.

“You can’t twist the truth, Cassidy!” she snapped.

“We’ll prove Mom is innocent. You’ve completely lost your mind-and whoever is feeding you this nonsense is just as crazy!”

“Well,” Cassidy replied with a careless shrug, “as I said… we’ll see.”

Her gaze shifted slowly to Rima.

“What I do know right now,” she continued coolly, “is that your beloved mother won’t be having a very comfortable stay.”

Rima stiffened.

“She’ll be spending some time in a detention cell,” Cassidy went on, her tone almost conversational.

“Wearing that lovely orange uniform.” A slow, deliberate smile formed.

“The one specially designed for criminals.”

Rima’s eyes widened in horror.

“No… no! This can’t be!” she cried, panic finally taking over. She grabbed Red’s arm desperately.

“I can’t stay here! Red, do something!”

“Cassidy!” Red barked, his voice shaking with fury.

“How dare you!”

Cassidy met his glare calmly, almost amused.

“You ungrateful bitch!” Mirriam shouted, lunging forward before the officers and the imposing presence of the two lawyers forced her to stop.

“After everything our family did for you-this is how you repay us?!”

Cassidy didn’t react. Their anger no longer reached her.

“I won’t stay any longer,” she said casually, as if the scene had already bored her.

“I only came to see Madame Rima Knowles brought in myself.” Her eyes moved briefly over the holding area.

“I’ve seen enough.”

She turned slightly, preparing to leave, then paused.
