Chapter 151
“Ashton… ahh, yes…” Her cries became a inantra, her body bouncing with his relentless pace.
“I can freely claim you now, Cass…”
Each driving movement pushed her higher, winding the pleasure so fight she feared she might shatter:
“Ash…”
She could feel the telltale coil of her own climax burning low in her belly, a mirror to the growing tension in his muscles above her.
His rhythm became more frantic, his thrusts deeper, seeking his own release.
“Come for me,” he commanded, his voice a ragged growl against her ear.
It was all the permission she needed. The world dissolved into a white–hot flash of sensation.
“Ahh…!”
A final, broken cry escaped her lips as her climax crashed over her, waves of pure, unadulterated pleasure seizing every nerve ending.
“Shit…” His grunt was a low, guttural rasp, thick with barely restrained need.
She clenched around him, milking his own release, seconds later with a deep, guttural groan as he emptied himself into her, his body shuddering above hers.
For a long moment, there was only the heavy silence, punctuated by their slowing breaths.
He collapsed beside her, his arm slung possessively over her waist. Spent and boneless, she melted into the sheets, a profound sense of completion settling over her like a warm blanket.
“I owe Kai this chance,” Ashton murmured after a long, comfortable silence. His fingers traced slow circles along her bare stomach, thoughtful rather than heated now.
“So I have to make sure he has a brother or sister soon.”
Cassie let out a soft laugh, the sound warm and drowsy.
“Silly,” she teased gently.
She shifted closer, pressing a kiss to his chest before resting her cheek against him, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
“I… Zandrie and I are more like siblings,” she muinbled sleepily, not waiting for him to question her.
Ashton’s hand stilled slightly, but he remained quiet, letting her continue.
“At first, I planned to marry him,” she admitted.
“Not for love. I needed someone reliable. I was in a foreign land, alone… and I had plans I couldn’t accomplish by myself. I was honest with him about everything.”
Her fingers lazily traced invisible patterns over his skin.
“He agreed to help me—but not to a real marriage. He said I was crazy,” she smiled faintly.
“Still, he stayed. He helped me through everything… even my pregnancy.
Ashton listened, his jaw tightening at parts of the story, softening at others.
“Even his mother did. Mom Zab was incredible. She loved Kai so much… so we eventually told her the truth.” Her sleepy smile deepened.
“But nothing changed. She just loved Kai even more.”
Ashton exhaled slowly.
“You could’ve told me,” he said quietly.
“I would’ve come to you immediately. I held myself back because I thought you had already built a life… and I didn’t want to destroy it.”
Cassie lifted her head slightly.
“I thought you hated me,” she admitted.
“Because of what happened. Because of Mirriam. I believed I ruined things for you.”
“There was nothing to ruin,” Ashton replied firmly.
“Everything I did… was for you.”
She looked at him in surprise.
“I got close to Mirriam so she wouldn’t target you,” he explained.
“She was jealous every time I approached you. And jealousy makes people dangerous.”
Cassie blinked, realization dawning.
“I figured that out later,” she said softly.
“But by then, I was drowning in my own problems… especially with my mother’s case. I never had the chance to tell you.”
A small, mischievous smile curved her lips.
“Though,” she added lightly, “I did enjoy watching you get jealous. It was worth keeping the misunderstanding for a little
while.”
Ashton narrowed his eyes playfully.
“You little vixen,” he growled, but his eyes sparkled with playful affection.
In one fluid motion, he scooped her by the waist and settled her atop him, their bodies aligning perfectly.
୮
“Now,” he commanded, his voice a husky whisper as he guided her down, engulfing himself in her welcoming heat.
“Ride me.”
“Ash…”
A sharp, breathy gasp was her only reply as she surrendered to the exquisite sensation, her body moving with his in a rhythm that felt like coming home.
