They nodded. None of them argued. That alone told me how tense things had become.

When they left, I didn’t move from my chair. I sat there and waited.

“Pull the logs,” I said. “Everything tied to the west corridor.”

“Already on it,” he replied. “This wasn’t random.”

“I know,” I said. “Tell me who touched it.”

There was a pause. “Daniel… this is coming from inside our own encrypted channels.”

I closed my eyes. “How many access points?”

“Too many,” he said. “But the request pattern is narrow. Whoever it is didn’t hesitate.”

“Send me the breakdown,” I said. “And don’t tell anyone you’re doing this.”

“By who?”

I exhaled slowly. “Is she stable?”

“For now,” he said. “But this isn’t something you can wait out.”

I didn’t answer right away.

“Daniel,” he pressed. “You need to understand. Decisions are being made around her. Not for her.”

“I understand,” I said quietly. “More than you think.”

When the call ended, I stayed where I was. The room felt smaller. Not because of fear, but because time had shifted. What had once been planning became pressure.

I didn’t have the luxury of tearing the whole network apart to find the traitor. Not if doing that exposed Amy to more risk.

The next morning, I met with Rhea and Tomas in the lower operations room. No windows. No recordings.

“We have a leak,” I said plainly.

Rhea crossed her arms. “We suspected as much.”
