Daniel arrived shortly after I finished reviewing the messages. He didn’t speak immediately, just stood by the doorway, hands in his pockets. I looked up at him and smiled faintly.

“You look calm,” he said.

“I am,” I replied. “I’ve prepared for this for weeks. I know what needs to be done, and I followed through.”

He nodded, pacing slightly. “And the council responses?”

“All formal. Careful. Some hesitant, others proactive. The forum created accountability without direct conflict.” I paused, watching his reaction. “Even Mark sent inquiries, though they’re cautious and measured.”

Daniel frowned. “I expected him to try harder.”

“He will. Once he realizes the forum limits his ability to manipulate outcomes.” I leaned back in the chair, still keeping my hands on my stomach. “He will look for weaknesses, but there are none to exploit right

now.”

Daniel sat across from me. “Good. That’s what we need. Stability before the tribunal continues.”

I studied him. “You’re worried about the tribunal, aren’t you?”

He exhaled. “Always. But more than that, I’m aware of how the next moves will be observed.

People are watching the reactions carefully. They’re measuring every step we take and predicting our decisions.”

“Then we keep moving forward deliberately,” I said. “We control the pace. We control visibility.”

Cole arrived shortly after that, carrying the latest compiled data from security monitoring. “The council has noted the forum,” he said. “Responses are under review. No significant resistance yet, but all monitoring continues.”

I nodded. “Keep all records. Any unusual communication flagged immediately. I want every response tracked.”

Cole inclined his head and left to oversee the staff.

Daniel frowned slightly. “You’re planning ahead for the trial. You’re not just observing anymore.”
