Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 113

Chapter 113 You’re Under Criminal Detention

Bethan’s heart sank. She wanted to stop him, but it was too late.

Jacob’s face brightened. “That’s perfect!”

Bethan exchanged a quick look with Vadim, then turned to Daniel, her voice sharp with urgency. “Daniel, Jacob’s the executive assistant to the Cavill Group’s CEO. That phone’s got sensitive files. One mistake, and you could land in serious legal trouble.”

Daniel thumped his chest, brimming with confidence. “Don’t worry, Bethy. I’ve been fixing phones for over a decade.”

He handed Jacob his shop’s address, and Jacob thanked him warmly. “I’ll drop it off after work.”

Before leaving, Vadim leaned in, his voice low. “Ms. Olsen, as long as Daniel repairs the phone under supervision from start to finish, there shouldn’t be any issues.”

It was just past nine in the morning. Bethan had convinced her parents to stay home and wait for news while she took a cab to the courthouse.

The moment she stepped out at the entrance, a wall of reporters surged forward.

Before they could ask a single question, the Cavill family’s security team swooped in, dispersing the crowd with ruthless efficiency.

Bethan turned and caught sight of Hugh emerging from

his car.

He was a vision of power. He stepped out of a luxury car in a bespoke dark suit, tie perfectly knotted, a jeweled lapel pin gleaming, and an expensive watch on his wrist. Several bodyguards and assistants surrounded him, the whole scene an effortless display of power and status.

His towering frame, sharp jawline, and icy presence cut through the chaos like a king stepping from a throne- remote, regal, unyielding.

Their eyes met for a fleeting moment.

same time and headed for their respective waiting rooms.

Bethan pushed open the door to Waiting Room 2.

Vadim was inside, rifling through papers, finalizing their strategy.

Bethan had the evidence of Hugh’s affair, and he’d shown up on time, as expected. She was certain she’d win this case and break free.

The thought of freedom washed over her, loosening the

knot in her chest.

Vadim glanced up. “Ms. Olsen, you’ll need to turn off your phone before the hearing. Anything else you want to go over?”

Before she could respond, a knock sounded at the door.

Bethan looked up to see Jacob entering with two uniformed police officers. She and Vadim exchanged a quick glance.

“Jacob, what’s going on?” she asked, her voice steady despite the dread curling inside her.

An officer stepped forward, brandishing a detention warrant. “Ms. Olsen, you’re suspected of stealing confidential company files, causing significant losses to the Cavill Group. You’re under criminal detention. Please come with us.”

Bethan’s mind blanked, her face paling.

Her knees almost gave out, and she had to brace herself on the table to stay upright.

Jacob spoke quickly, his tone apologetic, “Mrs. Cavill, it was your cousin, Daniel Olsen. He confessed you instructed him to steal sensitive files from my phone and leak them to a rival company.”

Bethan froze, her thoughts a tangled storm. Betrayal cut through her, sharp and cold.

Jacob’s voice softened. “I reported it to the police as soon as it happened. I’m sure there’s been some misunderstanding. Maybe you could explain it to Mr.

Cavill.”

Explain to Hugh?

She hadn’t touched Jacob’s phone-not once.

She’d done nothing wrong, and she trusted the law would clear her name.

As the officers escorted her from Waiting Room 2, she passed Hugh in the quiet corridor.

Their eyes met.

Her eyes burned, tears held back by sheer will, her lips pressed tight as she brushed past him without a word.
