Chapter 160 You’re Not Going Anywhere
Hugh lowered his eyes, silent for a moment.
He turned to Megan. “Go home.”
Megan, trembling, headed toward the elevator.

Logan extended an arm, blocking her path. “Ms. Ridley,
you’re not going anywhere.”
Megan’s face paled with fear.
She looked at Hugh pleadingly. “Hugh, I’m scared.”
Hugh glanced at Bethan, hesitated, then released her hand again.
He stepped to Megan’s side, grabbed her wrist in front of Bethan, and personally escorted her into the elevator.
Logan signaled, and the bodyguards lined up, blocking the elevator door.

Ten minutes later, outside the hotel by the roadside.
Megan eyed the row of sleek black luxury cars and
bodyguards, clutching Hugh’s sleeve-in panic. “Hugh, can I ride with you?”
Bethan watched the two, practically glued together, and
turned to leave.
Gwen hooked her arm through Bethan’s, heading for a car in the back. “Bethan, you’re with me.”.
Hugh brushed Megan off without a word, stepping forward to grab Bethan’s wrist.
Megan’s heart raced, her anxiety spiking.
She approached Bethan and Hugh, her tone tentative. “Hugh, I have something to tell you. Could we talk alone?”
She knew all too well how ruthless Hugh’s grandfather
could be.

If he had summoned her tonight, it was surely bad news.
Yet, in a twisted way, the scandal being exposed wasn’t necessarily bad for her.
Now, everyone knew about her and Hugh.
With Hugh shielding her, she was curious to see what his family could do to her.
Hugh glanced at Bethan and said to Megan, “You’ve got me. No need to worry.”
Logan opened the door of the car behind them. “Ms. Ridley, please get in.”
Megan had no choice but to steel herself and climb in.
Gwen spat, “That tramp. Just wait till my grandfather settles with you.”
She threw Hugh a defiant glare. “Don’t give me that look. Mom told me to slap her silly, and I’m keeping score for the rest.”
With that, Gwen tugged Bethan toward another car. 16:56

Hugh tightened his grip on Bethan’s wrist, glaring at Gwen. “Get in your own car. I need to talk to Bethan.”
Gwen, intimidated by his anger, ducked behind Mason.
Mason patted her shoulder. “Ignore him. We’re riding together.”
Hugh cut Mason off, “None of your business.”
Mason snorted, “Bethan’s my best friend. Her business is also mime. I want to see you get what’s coming.”
With that, Mason pulled Gwen into a car.
One by one, the others left, until only Hugh and Bethan
remained.
Both looked grim as they got into a car, one after the
other.
The car started, and Hugh lowered the partition between them and the driver.
He turned, his deep gaze fixed on Bethan’s face, his tone

unreadable. “Happy now?”
Bethan met his eyes with a calm, unwavering look.
She spoke with a rare seriousness, “I’m doing you both a favor.”
Hugh’s expression darkened.
His grip on her hand tightened, almost involuntarily.
“She just slipped up,” he insisted. “She’s used to calling me that. She didn’t mean to provoke you.”
Bethan wrenched her hand free. “If she’s so used to it, then don’t bother correcting her. And don’t explain it to me-I know exactly what I am. Just your cover.”
Hugh’s face grew stormy, almost menacing.
His eyes bored into her, tracking every flicker of her
reaction.
“Bethan, if that’s how you want to see it, fine,” he said
coldly.

Despite his lack of explanation, Bethan stayed composed.
