Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 330

Chapter 330 Owe Me an Explanation

Standing in the corridor, Bethan watched as a crowd surrounded Bradley and rushed upstairs in a hurry.

He brushed past her and dashed to support Maria, his voice filled with panic. “Hold on-I’ll get you to the hospital right now.”

Maria grabbed his hand, stopping him mid-step.

Her voice quivered with fake helplessness. “Honey, it’s nothing-I’m fine. But our son… he’s scared. I don’t feel right.”

Bradley insisted on taking her to the hospital, but Maria refused, her eyes filling with fake tears.

“I never thought I’d be bullied in my own home. I kindly offered to take Dr. Olsen to change into clean clothes, but she pushed me on purpose. She wanted me to miscarry.”

At her words, Bethan’s patience snapped, her voice sharp with disbelief. “Mrs. Field, are you a mind reader? Do you know what I’m thinking better than I do?”

Maria’s expression remained calm, her tone steady. “Dr. Olsen, there are cameras in the corridor. If I’m framing you, I’ll apologize publicly.”

Before she finished speaking, Elsie jumped in to back her up, her voice loud and accusatory. “Dr. Olsen, we all saw you push Mrs. Field! Don’t try to deny it!”

Murmurs of accusation erupted from the crowd, everyone demanding the footage be pulled up.

Bradley immediately ordered someone to retrieve the surveillance video, then turned to Bethan, his gaze cold with warning.

“Dr. Olsen, if this video proves you pushed my wife to make her miscarry, even if Mr. Dixon brought you here, I won’t let you get away with it!”

Bradley seethed with anger while Maria played the poor victim, refusing to stand up. Elsie, Nola, and Jasper kept fanning the flames, twisting the truth with every word.

The onlookers joined in-some cursed Bethan for being cruel enough to hurt a pregnant woman, others mocked

her as a discarded socialite who didn’t belong at the party.

Rumors spread like wildfire: Bethan was pestering her ex-husband to get back together, craving to return to the Cavill family; she’d landed her job at Dixon family’s hospital only by seducing Tristen, sleeping her way to the top; Bethan had inserted herself between Hugh and his first love Megan, tearing them apart; she’d ruined Megan’s life, sending her to jail, and now Bethan was getting her karma by being kicked out of the Cavill family.

Every insult under the sun was thrown her way—vicious, vulgar, unrelenting.

Bethan stood there, expression blank, as the remarks

grew more extreme.

She ignored them, staying silent, giving them no reaction. Silence was her only defense.

Just then, Bradley’s phone buzzed with a message.

He pulled up the video and played it for everyone to see.

On the screen, Maria smiled warmly, offering to take Bethan to change clothes. Bethan refused-and then pushed her.

With the “evidence” in hand, Maria looked even more wronged. Elsie, Nola, and Jasper upped their game, turning murmurs into shouts of condemnation.

“You’re unfit to be a doctor!” Elsie screeched.

Nola and Jasper yelled in unison, “Pushing Aunt Maria to miscarry is murder! Call the police-lock her up!”

The crowd, whipped into a frenzy, moved toward Bethan, ready to confront her. But just in time, Hugh, Mason, and Tristen arrived, stepping between her and the mob.

“What’s going on here?” Mason asked, his gaze landing on

Bethan.

She looked at the three men-Mason, Hugh, Tristen-and in an instant, her eyes turned red-rimmed with tears.

Hugh stared, stunned, as she walked toward him, looking so wronged. His heart ached; he stepped forward quickly, his voice soft with reassurance. “Don’t be afraid_l’m

here.”

But Bethan walked right past him, not sparing a glance.

“Mason, Tristen-I’m innocent,” she said, her voice breaking with grievance.

Hugh froze, his hand hanging mid-air before dropping limply to his side.

He turned slowly, watching her back, a sharp pain twisting in his chest. Her vulnerability, her tears-they weren’t for him. He’d rushed to her side, but she’d chosen

someone else.

The world spun, his vision darkening for a moment.
