Chapter 338 Hugh Has Gone Crazy!
Bethan casually glanced at the luxury car not far away and then said, “Alright, I’ll do as you say. I take you home.”
Their eyes met. Hugh’s bloodshot eyes first lit up with a flash of surprise, which quickly turned into suspicion.
Meeting his skeptical gaze, Bethan took the initiative to support Hugh and said cautiously, “You had gastric bleeding this morning and were rushed to the hospital. Is there some pasta in the fridge? I’ll cook you a plate when we get home.”
Seeing that Hugh remained unmoved, she suddenly hugged his waist and rested her head on his chest.
With a sob in her voice, she said, Hugh, stop this. You’re scaring me.”
Hugh stared down at Bethan, who was nestled obediently in his arms. His eyes were filled with desire.
He instinctively tightened his embrace and said hoarsely, “Okay, Bethy. Let’s go home.”
Relieved, Bethan helped Hugh into the car.
Hugh has gone crazy!
She had to get this madman out of the airport as soon as possible and then find a chance to call Harvey.

Once in the passenger seat, Bethan found her phone.
Just then, it rang.
She quickly glanced at the caller ID.

When Bethan looked up, Hugh had leaned over. “Is it Calvin calling?”
Bethan hid the phone behind her back. “No, it isn’t.”
Her reaction made Hugh’s face darken. He reached out his hand. “Give me the phone!”
Their eyes locked in a tense standoff.
Bethan saw menace in Hugh’s eyes.
In a hurry, she opened the door and ran out of the car.
She answered Calvin’s call while running toward the airport
entrance.
After running a few feet, a bright light shone from the direction of the airport entrance, stopping her in her tracks.
From afar, she saw the Cavill family’s bodyguards lined up at the entrance. Her heart sank.
No wonder Hugh was so calm when she got out of the car.

He had planned everything and knew she couldn’t escape.

“Mr. Byron, go to bed early,” she said to Calvin perfunctorily and then hung up.
It was the first time she’d seen Hugh so out of control.
Knowing Hugh was shrewd and ruthless, she didn’t want to involve Calvin.
Helplessly, she turned around.
Hugh stepped out of the car slowly. Dressed in an elegant business suit that fit his well-built body like a glove, he carried himself with an air of cold and refined authority.
Stopping a few feet away from Bethan, he didn’t move forward.
Bethan looked around and then walked back to Hugh with a forced calm.
A hand was held out by Hugh, leaving Bethan with no option but to surrender her phone.
After checking the call log and spotting the call from Calvin, his expression darkened menacingly.
Quickly, Bethan jumped into explanation mode. “It was Henry, He accidentally hit my number while gaming.”
Almost immediately, she wished she could take those words back. It was well past 1 a.m. What kid would still be wide-awake 3/6

at this ungodly hour?
However, Hugh didn’t call her out on the lie.
Instead, he slipped an arm around her waist and gently drew her into his embrace.
Gazing into her eyes, he inquired in a deceptively gentle tone, “Are you really that smitten with Calvin’s son?”
Even though his voice was soft, a shiver ran down Bethan’s spine.
Frozen on the spot, Bethan made no response to Hugh.
As she felt Hugh’s hand on her waist clench involuntarily, words tumbled out of her in a hurry.
“Hugh, I’ve already worn the dress Mr. Byron gave me. It’s improper to give it back. I’ll reimburse him tomorrow. I won’t accept anything from him again. Please let me go home, okay?”
Hugh’s tone was unfathomable. “Got it sorted out?”
Vigorously, Bethan nodded.
Then Hugh queried, “No more fibs?”
Bethan shook her head vehemently.
“Since that’s settled, will you give me a chance to make
amends?” Hugh asked.

Bethan nodded again, teeth gritted. In this predicament, she’d have nodded to anything Hugh said.
She was dead-set against boarding that helicopter.
As Hugh’s face gradually filled her field of vision, Bethan sensed his intent and instinctively reached out to push him away.
Hugh caught her hand and pressed it against his chest. Leaning down, he kissed her eyebrows and murmured, “Be a good girl.”
Right after that, he suddenly bent down and swept Bethan up into his arms.
Caught off guard, she let out a startled yelp.
