Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 341

Chapter 341 Both in Tears

Lucky Draw

The large bedroom was filled with an amorous atmosphere, even in the corners.

The lingering fragrance of Bethan’s post-bath shower wafted under Hugh’s nose, and her soft body was irresistible to him.

In a soft, almost pleading tone, he whispered, “Bethy, let’s have a baby!”

Bethan thrashed about wildly, kicking and flailing. “Hugh, I hate

you!”

There was a time when she’d considered having a child with Hugh.

But that was in the past.

Hugh paused briefly. Kissing the corner of Bethan’s lips, his eyes bloodshot, he said, “I’d rather you hate me than ignore me!”

As Hugh kissed her, he coaxed, “Bethy, don’t push me away.”

Hugh was speaking the gentlest words while performing the most forceful actions. Bethan stood no chance against him.

On the big bed, their bodies intertwined, the mattress sinking deeply under their combined weight. Their breaths swirled in the space, intensifying the amorous air in the room.

Just when Bethan was on the verge of giving up in despair, her hand brushed against something familiar.

“Hugh!”

She held the thing in front of Hugh’s eyes, and his wild movements stopped abruptly.

Taking advantage of his momentary daze, Bethan pushed him off with all her might.

Too flustered to tidy herself up, Bethan slapped Hugh hard.

Hugh’s head jerked to the side.

As he saw the marks all over Bethan’s body, he sobered up instantly.

He quickly wrapped the quilt around Bethan and hugged her tightly through it.

Kissing her forehead, his voice panicked and gentle, he said, “Sorry, I was too impulsive just now. I won’t touch you. I promise!”

Bethan curled up in the quilt, tears streaming down.

With red-rimmed eyes, she sobbed and warned Hugh, “Hugh, even if you force me today, even if I get pregnant with your child again, I’ll definitely have an abortion, just like with the first

one!”

Hugh’s heart felt like it was being torn apart, as if it were bleeding internally.

Clenching his teeth, he said nothing, just holding Bethan tighter.

Bethan declared, “Hugh, I’ll never let myself be involved with you again!”

Hugh’s eyelashes trembled, and tears silently rolled down his cheeks.

Choking with sobs, he managed to say in a hoarse voice, “Bethy, do you really have to punish me like this?”

Bethan firmly said, “Hugh, it’s all your fault that our child didn’t come into the world. You owe me this!”

As she thought of the unborn child, Bethan’s sobs grew more broken.

She continued, “Hugh, I won’t forgive you until I’m dead!”

Both Bethan and Hugh were in tears.

The air in the room was so oppressive that it was hard to breathe. The previous amorousness had completely vanished.

Hugh gently stroked Bethan’s tear-streaked face with his hand, carefully wiping away her tears.

Choking back sobs, he coaxed her “Stop crying. Lie down and rest. I’ll go downstairs for a smoke.”

Gently, Hugh laid Bethan down on the bed and tucked the quilt around her.

As he watched her close her eyes softly, he picked up his clothes from the floor and stumbled out of the room.

Late at night in the first-floor living room, Hugh slumped dejectedly on the floor beside the wine cabinet, his upper body resting against the cabinet door.

Several empty wine bottles lay haphazardly around him.

He yearned to get drunk, really drunk.

But the more he drank, the clearer his mind became.

The pain in his chest and the burning sensation in his stomach were nothing compared to the heartache caused by Bethan’s attitude that night.

Why?

Why had things turned out this way?

Jacob walked in and immediately spotted Hugh lying beside the wine cabinet. He rushed forward to help, but Hugh pushed him

away.

Jacob plucked up the courage to say, “Mr. Cavill, my phone’s

been ringing off the hook. How about giving the Cavill Manor a call?”

Three years ago, Hugh had brought Bethan here for their honeymoon.

She’d complained about the lack of internet.

After the honeymoon, Hugh spent a fortune over three years building a signal tower on this small island—ensuring full signal coverage for over a hundred miles of the surrounding sea area.

Who would’ve thought that things would change so much by

their return?

Now, Hugh’s phone was off, and all the island’s internet had been temporarily cut.

The only way to contact the outside world was through Jacob’s phone.

Since last night, it had been constantly vibrating with calls, but he hadn’t dared to answer any.
