Chapter 80 Won’t Let Her File for Divorce
She then gave Megan a contemptuous look and turned
away.
Megan watched Fiona’s haughty figure, her body trembling slightly as she fought back her anger.
From Fiona’s words, it seemed Hugh and Bethan were on the verge of divorce.
She was dead-set on seizing the chance to marry Hugh and become the mistress of the Cavill family.
She’d make this old woman pay for treating her like dirt.
Around three in the afternoon, at Hugh and Bethan’s home, Jacob and the butler were directing a bunch of people to move the valuable items from the master bedroom and study on the second floor to the car.
In the yard, Mason grumbled about Hugh, “Bethan doesn’t think this house is dirty. She thinks you’re the dirty one. Moving out won’t fix a thing.

better brace yourself for her to file for divorce.”

Hugh, dressed in a sharp black business suit with an unreadable expression, said, “I sent her abroad to study so she could cool off. I won’t let her file for divorce.”
Just then, he saw Megan get out of a taxi, sobbing.
Megan took the initiative to say hi to Mason, but he just turned around and pretended not to hear, then went over to the tree to pick leaves.
Megan felt a twinge of embarrassment creeping over her.
There were a bunch of people bustling around the yard, moving stuff here and there. Megan tiptoed over to Hugh. “Hugh, what’s all this about?”
Hugh dodged the question. “What are you doing here?”
Megan stole a glance at Mason and hesitated, keeping her mouth shut.
Mason, who didn’t have a good opinion of Megan, just walked off, saying, “You two have your chat.”

Logan got the message and led the others away. Jacob went to wait in the car for Hugh.
Once everyone was gone, Hugh and Megan stepped into the living room.
Only then did Megan start to talk. “Hugh, your mom came to see me this noon.”
Hugh was dressed in black dress pants, a white shirt, and black armbands. With his sleeves rolled up, his strong forearms were on display.
He stood in front of the French windows, hands in his pockets, his eyes fixed on the charred mess in the garden, deep in thought.
Seeing that Hugh didn’t respond, Megan looked a bit hesitant.
She probed, “Hugh, your mom kicked me and Hudson out of that house. She even threatened me. She said if you divorce your wife, she won’t let me off. What am I supposed to do now?”

Hugh turned around and calmly said, “Don’t worry. I’m not gonna divorce my wife. My mom can’t do anything to you.”
As she heard Hugh say again that he wouldn’t divorce, a flicker of unwillingness flashed across Megan’s eyes.
She unconsciously clenched her fists and looked around the living room. “Hugh, you know my mom, my brother, and his wife live together. It’s already crowded. Now that Hudson and I have moved back, his wife isn’t happy. Your house is empty. Can Hudson and I stay here for a little while?”
Hugh refused flat-out, “Megan, this is the house I share with my wife after marriage. It’s not right for you to stay here, even if it’s empty.”
Megan hung her head in shame. “Sorry, Hugh. I was just asking. Don’t take it to heart.”
Hugh walked up to Megan and stared at her for a
moment.
