Hugh stiffened his back, standing as rigid as a board. “I’ll handle my own business. Stay outta my affairs!”
With that, he spun around and walked off.
Harvey’s shrewd eyes glinted with a hint of menace. “A bad wife can ruin three generations. There’s nothing good about Megan. She’s not fit to be part of the family. Even if Hugh divorces Bethan, that mother-son pair must never be recognized!”
Ryan nodded in agreement. “Dad, you’re right.”
Fiona stood up. “Dad, don’t worry. I know what to do.”
At lunchtime, Fiona showed up at Megan’s place and knocked on the door.
Seeing the bodyguards behind Fiona, Megan nervously stepped aside. “Fiona, what brings you here?”
Fiona corrected her sharply. “It’s Mrs. Fiona Cavill to
you.”

She remembered how Bethan had the same snooly attitude and corrected Megan to call her “Mrs. Cavill” when she’d called Bethan “Dr. Olsen” before,
Fiona paced around the living room in her high-heels, clicking with each step. “Ms. Ridley, be honest. What in this house did you buy with your own money?”
Megan hadn’t forgotten the time she first met Fiona and almost got set up by Fiona’s recording.
She asked cautiously, “Is there something you wanna talk about?”
Fiona stood gracefully in the middle of the living room. “Nothing serious. Just dropping by to help my son’s wife. get back some of her stuff.”
The fake smile on Megan’s face slowly faded.
Hearing the door open behind her, Megan quickly pushed her son in front of Fiona. “Hudson, say hi to grandma.”
Hudson obediently said, “Grandma.”
Fiona looked utterly disdainful. “Ms. Ridley, I’ve told youf

before. The Cavill family doesn’t recognize this kid!”

Megan stepped in front of her son protectively and retorted with a hidden edge, “Mrs. Fiona Cavill, whether you admit it or not, Hudson is your grandson. I’ll raise him right, and he’ll respect you when he grows up.”
A cold look flashed across Fiona’s eyes. “Let’s just hope he makes it to adulthood first.”
Megan looked up and suddenly locked eyes with Fiona. A shiver ran down her spine.
Fiona bent down and picked up a cartoon-themed cup from the coffee table. “Ms. Ridley, tell me, does this cup belong to the Cavills or the Ridleys?”
Megan averted her gaze and stammered, “M-Mrs. Fiona Cavill, Hugh bought this cup for our son.”
Before Megan could finish her sentence, Fiona let go of the cup.
It shattered on the floor with a sharp crack.
Biona said softly, “If you can’t even afford a simple cup:46

in this house isn’t yours, either.”

Megan hung her head, not daring to meet Fiona’s eyes.
After all, Hugh and Bethan weren’t divorced yet.
Every penny she spent of Hugh’s felt like ill-gotten gains.
Fiona raised her hand, and several bodyguards immediately stepped forward.
With a look of utter disdain, she glanced at Megan and said, “Ms. Ridley, seeing as you’ve got a kid with you, I’ll give you half an hour to pack your stuff and get outta here.”
Megan stared at her in disbelief. “Mrs. Fiona Cavill, you can’t be this heartless to me and my son!”
Fiona shot back, “I’m being nice right now. Wait till my son finalizes the divorce. Then you’ll know what real cruelty is.”
Megan was cowed by Fiona’s cold glare. Her hand that had reached for her phone slowly dropped.”

was waffling about divorcing Bethan.
At this crucial juncture, she couldn’t afford to piss off Fiona or start a fight.
Swallowing her rage, Megan led her son into the room to pack their bags.
Half an hour later, Megan dragged a suitcase out, only to be blocked by the bodyguards.
One of them opened the suitcase to check it, while another walked up to Megan. “Ms. Ridley, leave that designer bag on your shoulder here,” he said.
