Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 95

Chapter 95 You Can’t Leave Her With Nothing

Before leaving, Harvey said firmly, “Since Bethan has

said her piece, I’ll waive the interest. I’ll have my lawyer handle the divorce. There’s no need for our two families

to meet again.”

Miranda, with her back to Harvey, replied, “That’s just fine by us.”

After the Cavill family left, Miranda knocked on her daughter’s door.

Bethan opened it and threw herself into Miranda’s arms, repeating “sorry” over and over.

Working outside, she’d realized how hard it was to make

money.

She also knew there was still so much she needed to learn

in her field.

Bethan couldn’t support her parents and brother financially yet.

money, and even her parents were caught up in it.

Both Bethan and Miranda were in tears.

Barry and Vincent stood at the door, their eyes bloodshot, one on each side.

Over an hour later, Hugh woke up at the Cavill Manor.

In the living room, the air was thick with tension as Harvey sat in silence while his parents engaged in a heated argument.

Hugh’s face was ashen, a clear sign of the extreme distress

he was in.

He attempted to leave, ignoring the commotion, but Harvey’s voice stopped him in his tracks.

Hugh shuffled over and stood in front of Harvey, his lips sealed.

Harvey reminded him, “We’ve struck a deal with the Olsen family. Once the signing ceremony with Huvale Group wraps up next month, you’ll get divorced. In the meantime, find a way to sort things out with Megan and 7

Ryan thought his son had done nothing amiss. “Hugh, a real man steps up. You’re the heir of the Cavill family, with loads of responsibilities. Emotions don’t cut it in the face of reality. You can’t afford to act on impulse.”

Hugh replied wearily, “Dad, I get it.”

Fiona was fuming, her chest rising and falling rapidly. As she pointed at her son, her eyes were filled with disappointment. “Hugh, Bethy’s been married to you for three years. She ditched her job to be a full-time wife because she trusted you. What’s wrong with her asking for a divorce after you cheated on her?”

Just the thought of Bethan’s red-rimmed eyes, trembling lips, and that look of utter despair made Hugh’s heart

ache.

With his head bowed, his voice was muffled. “Mom, I didn’t say she was in the wrong.”

Hugh slumped onto the sofa, his body leaning forward a

bit.

His elbows rested on his knees, and his fingers raked through his short hair.

some dignity. She can let go of everything, but you can’t leave her with nothing!

“You’ve always kept her on a tight leash and calculated every move. You made her pay back every single cent you shelled out for the Olsen family and forced her to leave empty-handed. It’s because you think she doesn’t deserve better!”

Hugh shot up. “Mom, I didn’t!”

Unable to sit still any longer, he spun around and walked

out.

Three days later, in the afternoon, Bethan was gearing up to head back to Canada.

Even after a couple of days of rest, she still looked like a million miles away.

Barry had already gone back to school. Miranda and Vincent accompanied Bethan to the entrance of the neighborhood.

Bethan urged her parents to go back, “Don’t worry, Mom and Dad. Tristen’s car will be here any minute.”

Standing by the roadside at the neighborhood entrance, Bethan sent a message to Tristen.

Looking up, she saw Hugh stepping out of the car. Her face instantly clouded over.

Hugh also looked haggard after three days apart.

He dragged his feet towards her and reached for her suitcase. “Let me take you to the airport.”

Bethan stepped back, yanking her suitcase out of his outstretched hand.
