Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 96

Chapter 96 Don’t Get the Wrong Idea

Just as Bethan was about to get in, Hugh grabbed her wrist.

His face frosty, he demanded, “Why are you getting in his car?”

Bethan glanced back at him, shook off his hand, and got into the car without a second thought.

Tristen pushed his glasses up his nose and explained politely, “Mr. Cavill, don’t get the wrong idea. Bethy and I are just colleagues. I’m just looking out for her. Our relationship isn’t what you think.”

A casual remark from Tristen pricked Hugh’s heart, and the words felt eerily familiar.

Subconsciously frowning, Hugh politely shook hands with Tristen. “Thanks, Mr. Dixon, for looking after my wife,” he said.

Trigten flashed a gentlemanly smile. “You’re being to90:07 polite, Mr. Cavill. After all, Bethy is sort of my junior

same city, knew each other.

Standing outside the car, Hugh stared at Bethan in the backseat.

After a moment’s hesitation, he gently closed the car door for her like a gentleman.

“Text me when you land,” he said softly, as if nothing unpleasant had ever happened between them.

Bethan smoothed her long hair but gave Hugh no

response.

She knew Hugh was a proper man.

In front of Tristen, he wouldn’t do anything out of line.

Hugh’s eyes lingered on Bethan for a few seconds before he silently withdrew his gaze.

Tristen exchanged some polite niceties and then got in the car and drove off.

Behind him, a white sports car pulled up.

Mason, looking stylish in a trendy mix-and-match outfit, stepped out wearing sunglasses.

He walked over to Hugh, glanced in the same direction, and couldn’t help but tease, “Even if you stand here for a lifetime, Bethan won’t bother to look back at you.”

Mason’s flamboyant voice snapped Hugh out of his daze.

The two looked at each other and then got into Hugh’s

car.

Mason took off his sunglasses. “Skipped work to see Bethan off at the airport, and she got in Mr. Dixon’s car without even giving you the time of day. Am I right?”

Hugh scowled and took a cigarette. “If you can’t say anything nice, you can shut up.”

Mason gave Hugh a cheeky look. “You’ve wrecked your family, are about to get divorced, and made the two families fall out for Megan and her kid. What are you waiting for? Just move in with Megan and be a happy family.”

Mason stared at Hugh’s expression and analyzed, saying, “Bethan loves you, but she’s not stupid. You lied to her, hurt her, gave her the cold shoulder, and even hurt her brother for your first love and that fake kid of yours. Any normal person wouldn’t take you back.”

Hugh lit a cigarette irritably.

Just then, he saw Megan walking towards the car in the distance, which made him even more annoyed.

Mason reminded him, “Hugh; if I remember correctly, Megan’s been staying with her brother and his wife in the south of the city, at least a half-hour drive from here. But

she’s met Bethan here two or three times since Bethan

came back. Do you really think it’s all a coincidence?”

Hugh wasn’t stupid. He got what Mason was hinting at.

Mason joked, “I bet Megan will tell you she just happened to pass by, saw your license plate, and came over to say hi.”

After saying that, Mason got out of the car.

Megan greeted Hugh through the car window, saying20:07
