Breed Me Cursed Alpha (Lyra and Ronan) novel Chapter 7

HANNAH’S POV:

THE NEXT DAY:

The sun streamed through the curtains, soft and golden. Amelia had somehow rolled to the middle of the bed and had one arm flung across my stomach. I smiled and gently peeled her arm away so I could slip out without waking her.

I showered quickly, dressed in a brown blouse tucked into wide-leg cream pants, and tied my hair into a high ponytail. I kept the makeup light just enough to hide the fatigue in my eyes. Today was important.

This was the first time I was returning to my fashion company since I left the country seven years ago.

A lot had changed. I had built most of the company’s growth remotely through Lucas’s help and a trusted manager. But today wasn’t about oversight. Today, I was back. Officially.

I has remained anonymous with Lucas as my partner, and the mystery of who I actually was brought a lot of attention to the company. The company’s brand name was simply ‘Prestige’ meant to serve quality designs to celebrities, the elite and so many more tailored to majorly the female audience with production in shoes, bags and dresses. I had always had a thing for creating designs and making magic happen through my imagination and creativity.

Which explains why my fiction novel, “Her Dreams’ had sold over a million copies after its release and that was four years ago. When I released the second book as it was supposed to be a trilogy, “Her Ambitions’, it was sold out all over the world with high demands. I literally had a tour to sign books, have conversations on the female character and dozens of interviews in different parts of the world.

I was successful and making it in everything I set my mind to do with Lucas, not just investing but supporting and I will be forever grateful to him.

We weren’t simply returning because I planned to officially divorce Elijah but because we had received a billionaire partnership from a new company here and we were supposed to meet with the partners in a few days. I was excited because I knew this deal would take the fashion company to a whole entire level anc I was so ready to see us excel.

I smiled as I recalled the first time Lucas and I met when I just arrived at the country, pregnant, lost and depending on my savings which I planned to do a lot with….I was scared it wasn’t going to be sufficient.

With eyes clouded with tears, I rolled my luggage and bumped into a man dressed in a blue suit and I wasn’t sure how strong I was but I managed to bump so hard into him that his phone came crashing. I was so apologetic but unbeknownst to me, that bump with that stranger would end up being a life changer for me,

“Mummy!” My thought was interrupted by the kids running to me in the dinning room while I sipped my tea.

Mister Flynn had already gotten the kids ready for the day. They were dressed and they were smelling so good, by the look on their faces it was glaring that they had been racing down here and I was getting tired of cautioning them.

“Mummy!” Andrew looked up bright-eyed, with his eyes like that if his father. “Are you going to work?”

“Yes, baby. Just for a few hours. I’ll be back before dinner.” I kissed both their heads.

I had really made beautiful children because my kids were both handsome and beautiful. I was always in awe.

Amelia tilted her head, her beautiful curls bouncing, “Can we come with you?” She questioned, taking a seat. “Not today, sweetheart. But maybe next time.” I answered and she pouted while the maids assisted in serving breakfast.

“Pinkie promise?” she asked, holding out her finger.

I smiled and locked mine with hers and kissed it knowing it always made her giggle. “Pinkie promise.”

“Alright now. Mummy is running late but make sure you eat your breakfast and call me for anything.” I told them and they simply nodded as their mouths were now full.

Lucas was already waiting outside, leaning against the car with his sunglasses pushed up into his hair and his phone in hand.

He glanced up when I stepped out. “You look like a woman ready to take over the world.”

I snorted looking at him with skepticism making him chuckle. “One building at a time.”

We drove in silence for a while. I watched the streets blur past some familiar, most changed. I had lived a different life here once. A smaller life. A frightened one. But now, the air didn’t feel heavy anymore. I was free

The office tower came into view. “Prestige” was carved into the marble outside in clean, bold lettering. The logo I had designed years ago still sat proudly beside it timeless and strong.

My stomach flipped.

The building stood tall with its glass panels shining under the morning sun. It was elegant, subtle, and solid. Just like the brand I had poured my soul into.

We parked, and Lucas opened the door for me.

“Ready?” he asked.

“No,” I replied honestly, then gave a tight smile. “But I’m here.”

The Boss Is Back

HANNAH’S POV:

The moment I stepped into the lobby, all heads turned. There were quiet gasps. Whispers. A few mouths literally dropped open.

Some of these people had started working with me virtually after the brand expanded. Others had been there in the very beginning back when Lucas and I just started the company and many didn’t even know me.

They probably just thought of me as Lucas’ wife or girlfriend. But little did they know.

“Ms. Jones,” the front desk assistant greeted breathlessly, rising to her feet. “Welcome.”

“Thank you. Is Maya in?” I inquired, while she stared at me.

“Yes, ma’am. She’s upstairs in the showroom.” She answered and I nodded.

Lucas stayed behind while I took the elevator up. My heart pounded in my chest. “You do know you’re their boss and they all have signed an NDA to never disclose your identity unless you approve.’

I smiled nervously and responded, “You’re right…you’re right.”

But the moment the elevator doors opened, the scent of fabric, perfume, and fresh paper hit me like home. Maya spotted me immediately. She rushed toward me with a grin, hugging me tightly. “You’re really here.”

“I told you I would come.” I responded hugging her right back.

“Yes, but seeing is believing,” she told me, pulling back. “You look… expensive.’

We both laughed. I glanced at Lucas who literally shooed me away while he spoke to some other people.

She gave me a tour like it was the first time, even though I knew this place like the back of my hand. The showroom was bright and open, racks lined with clean silhouettes, luxurious fabrics, and soft textures. The collection had matured while I was gone, but it still felt like me.

My latest design was coming together and it made my heart skip in excitement.

“They never replaced your office and I’m so in love with these new bags designs,” Maya pointed out as we walked down the hallway.

“Thank you.” I appreciated as I pushed the door open. My old space.

The desk still sat beneath the wide window. A clean sketchpad lay waiting. A mug with Boss Lady was still perched on the corner. I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding.

“I could cry,” I muttered.

“Please don’t. You’ll ruin your concealer,” Maya teased, pulling me into the seat behind the desk.

There were already stacks of folders waiting production reports, upcoming events, fabric sourcing, marketing plans. I flipped through them with practiced fingers. My brain slipped into that old rhythm so naturally it scared me. One would think Lucas would take charge of this but it was my obligation as I owned the company.

“You’ve got a private lunch meeting at noon with the team leads,” Maya reminded me.

“Anything urgent before then?” I asked, looking at the reports before me.

She added pulling out her phone. “The meeting between the billionaire dollar company is scheduled for Monday but tomorrow night still remains the ball which you have to attend.”

“Anything else?” I inquired and she hesistated a bit before asking, “Have you heard anything about him?”

“Elijah?” I asked to confirm.

She nodded but I shook my head, “I haven’t.”

I swallowed the bitter taste that suddenly rose in my throat at the sound of his name. “And I don’t care. As soon as we close this deal, I’m going to get a divorce and my kids and I will be out of here..”

Maya raised a brow. “You sure? Because you’re back here and he and his family literally run this place.I doubt things will be that easy..

))

Of course I knew it wouldn’t be easy but I wasn’t that weak girl who left, I was ready for anything and had the power and money to do whatever.

“Let him be there,” I said again. “I’m not the same woman he left behind.”

Maya studied me for a moment, then gave a small proud nod. “That’s what I wanted to hear. Oh and you should come check out the gown for the hall, it was created by one of the interns.”

Maya was my assistant and my friend, she had helped me so much in achieving so many of my dreams. She was the most supportive people I had ever met and I was grateful to her.

I turned to the wide window behind me, the city sprawling below. There was so much to be done and in so little time and I was ready and too preoccupied to not get them done and waste my time thinking.
