Broken but still Alive novel Chapter 130

Book3 Chapter25

Lyra P.O.V

I gazed at my self in the mirror and gave a rusty laugh.

For so long I had resented my brothers for their consent presence in my life. How they always hovered around me and

seemed to involved themselves in everything I did. How they acted as if I couldn’t breathe without their help.

Right now it looked like they were right. I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t think. I’d never been separated from them so long,

for a month I’ve been at the castle and there hasn’t been not even one phone call. It was unnatural for sets of siblings to

be separated for more then a day and now I knew why. It felt as if something was pulling at me tearing me in two.

But it was for the best right? We all needed to learn to survive without each other. Right?

A tear slipped from my eyes and i roughly wiped it away. I missed my brothers not matter how much the drove me crazy with their protectiveness. I needed them but did they need me? Had they realized with me gone how much they

were missing out on in life.

I had thought after the first day they would call at least to yell at me for leaving without saying goodbye but no it never

came.

I should be happy. For the first in forever I was by myself, being independent, making my own way. I was learning to control my powers and learning everything I needed to know when I became queen but I always imagined my brothers

would be there with me when I did it.

I stared into the mirror looking over my white hair that seemed to fascinate so many people. I guess I understand it since no one in my family had a lick of white hair. Not even now did my grandparents have any sign of greying. Today it was braided and pinned up into a elaborate set up. I was going out today and apparently if any of my people saw mel

had to look presentable seeing I’m the future queen.

I looked down at my nails which h

ad been done yesterday by a overly cheery woman who wondered why at my age that I was still single. It’d been quite embarrassing having to dodge her inquires into my life. I’d kissed a boy before at a party at the lake when my brothers had been other wise occupied. Unfortunately someone told my brothers and I never saw

the guy again.

A light knock on the door made me jump startled.

Princess? Its time to go the guards are here.

I sighed, Sally my personal maid refused to call me by my name even though I told her almost every day. She was a sweet girl quiet like me and we got along well despite she cowered in the presence of anyone with power. It had taken

me a week before she could look me in the eye.

I opened the door to see her shifting nervously her light pink dress almost the same style as my teal one. Her dark

brown hair was pulled into a high pony tail allowing me to see her bright green eyes.

Behind her were two very and I mean very large men. I could see why Sally was so nervous. I’d seen the castle guards but

never been that close to them. They never seemed so big when they were far away but up close? I’m pretty sure their hands were bigger then my head. What the heck were they eating?

Are you rready?Sally asked her eyes shifting nervously.

Oh yes I was just washing my hands.I said with a small smile hoping to ease her nerves.

She nodded briskly and turned on her heel allowing one of the guards to walk in front of her. I followed Sally down the hall and felt the presence of the other guard at my back. When we got in the car the two guards got in the front of the

car while we sat in the back.

The ride into the town was long but the view was amazing. We passed through the thick forest before we zoomed by huge pastures and meadows. One of the guards had turned on the radio but otherwise it was completely silent. I looked to the front of the car and looked at the guard driving.

His blonde hair was cut shirt military style leaving the tattoo on the back of his neck visible. I couldn’t really figure out

what it was other then some strange symbols. The other guard had long hair that he had braided though a few strands

fell loose and hung around his face.

They both were a grey shirt and black pants and on their left arms a tattoo was wrapped around their biceps that was a

mix of old were language and tribal with the royal seal in the center.

An hour later we arrived in town much to my relief I don’t think I could handle the silence anymore.

Can we go shopping first?I asked Sally.

Of course Princess.Sally said bowing her head slightly.

I wish you would call me Lyra.I sighed.

When we entered the town I breathed in all the sights and people. For a month I’d been locked inside the castle with
