Broken Vows and Buried Twins novel Chapter 21

Julian stood up and stared at Hester. "Are you serious?"

"Do you really think after everything that's happened, I'm just playing hard to get?"

Julian's thin lips pressed into a hard line. He didn't say a word.

"Julian, I can no longer find a single reason to convince myself to forgive you," Hester took a deep breath. "I've already moved out. I think my stance is perfectly clear."

Julian frowned, his gaze instinctively sweeping the room. Only then did he realize how empty it was. Her skincare products on the vanity, the shawls on the rack, and the books she always kept on the sofa—all of it was gone.

"When did you move out?" Julian asked, his brow furrowing deeper.

"Isn't it a little late for you to finally think to ask?"

Julian choked on his words for a second before replying, "I've been on a business trip overseas for the past few days. I just got back to the office this morning."

"Well, Mr. Weston is certainly a busy man. Makes sense, considering you have two households to maintain," Hester judged coldly.

"Hester!" Julian's expression darkened. "I told you, Melody and Caden's existence won't affect you."

"Ha." Hester let out a humorless laugh, infuriated by his sheer audacity. "Julian, if you want to play house with multiple women, that's your business. But I won't settle for a tainted man. You disgust me!"

"Hester!" Julian took a step forward and grabbed her jaw. "You think I'm tainted?"

Ignoring the sharp pain in her jaw, Hester furrowed her brows, glaring back at him with pure defiance. "Yes! You repulse me, Julian. You are filthy! You no longer deserve to be my husband, let alone the father of my children—"

Julian leaned down and forcefully crushed his lips against hers, silencing her. Hester froze for a split second before snapping out of it and thrashing violently.

But as their lips tangled, she was no match for Julian's sheer strength. In the chaos, he pinned her against the sofa. The horrifying sound of fabric tearing echoed through the room!

Hester's eyes widened in terror, and she fought back even harder.

Julian's large hand easily trapped both of her slender wrists, pinning them above her head. He dipped his head, biting her earlobe, his hot breath fanning against her skin. His voice was low and hoarse. "Who was begging me for another baby just recently? Hester, I've spoiled you too much!"

"Ugh! Urgh—"

In the bathroom, she leaned over the toilet, retching endlessly.

Julian stood up and walked to the doorway, watching Hester, whose face had gone completely pale from throwing up.

She had thrown up everything she ate for breakfast. Whether it was a physical reaction triggered by extreme emotional distress or typical morning sickness, she couldn't care less.

Either way, throwing up had successfully killed Julian's mood. It was a lucky break.

Once she rinsed her mouth and pulled herself together, she turned around to find Julian standing in the doorway, staring at her with a pitch-black expression.

"Do I disgust you that much?"

"Yes." Hester didn't hold back. "So I hope you'll have the decency to sign the papers when you receive them. Once we're divorced, we'll have nothing to do with each other."
