Neil was waiting by the elevators.
As the doors parted, Hester stepped out. Neil bowed slightly, maintaining complete professionalism. "Mrs. Weston, Mr. Weston is currently in a meeting. Please wait in his office for a moment."
Hester gave a curt nod.
Walking into the office, the first thing she noticed was a pastry box and her favorite latte sitting on the coffee table.
"Mr. Weston knew you were coming and specifically asked me to have these ready for you," Neil said with a polite smile.
Hester barely reacted. Her face remained devoid of emotion. "How much longer will he be?"
Neil checked his watch. "The meeting should wrap up in about half an hour."
"Understood." Hester walked over to the sofa and sat down, glancing up at him. "I'll wait. Go back to your work."
"Of course. If you need anything, just let me know. I'll leave you to it." Neil gave another polite nod and left the room.
The door clicked shut, leaving the office in total silence.
Hester pulled out her phone and opened a game to kill time. She didn't spare a single glance at the pastry or the latte.
It wasn't that she didn't like them anymore. She just realized that moving forward, she didn't want anything Julian bought for her. She was perfectly capable of buying the things she liked herself.
...
Half an hour stretched into a full hour.
When Julian finally emerged from the conference room, Neil immediately stepped up, lowering his voice. "Sir, I just checked. Mrs. Weston went to a law firm first, and from there, she stopped by a DNA testing clinic."
Julian didn't even look at the report. He wore the expression of a man who had anticipated exactly this. "Hester, this report doesn't prove I cheated."
Hester couldn't believe it. The absolute audacity of the man to deny it when the physical proof was sitting right in front of him!
She took a deep breath, flipped the report open to the final page, and slammed her finger down on the conclusion.
"Read it yourself, Julian! Probability of Paternity: 99.9%! I used your DNA and Caden's!"
Julian gave it a fleeting glance. Yes, it said *Probability of Paternity: 99.9%*. Just as he expected.
He looked up at her furious face and raised a single brow. "If Caden isn't my son, will you drop the divorce?"
Hester let out a harsh, disbelieving laugh. "The DNA test is sitting right there. Don't you realize how ridiculous you sound?"
