Broken Vows and Buried Twins novel Chapter 37

Hearing this, Julian's expression darkened. He didn't say a word, merely shooting a cold glance in Neil's direction.

Catching the cue, Neil cleared his throat awkwardly. "Um, I just remembered I have some urgent matters to attend to. I'll excuse myself."

Then he practically bolted from the room.

A suffocating silence fell over the office.

Julian stood up, a heavy crease forming between his brows. "Hester, I thought you, of all people, would understand me."

"Understand what?" Hester scoffed. "Understand why you used my name to adopt a child the moment I miscarried? Understand why you used your dead brother's son as a cover to shack up with Melody?"

Julian's face tightened with irritation. "I've already told you, there is nothing going on between Melody and me."

"Julian, you are unbelievable!" Hester glared at him, trembling with rage. "Do I literally need to catch you in bed together before you admit you're sleeping with her?!"

Julian's face turned like thunder. "Hester, that is enough."

"I went to Silverstream Villa."

Hearing that, Julian froze.

"I didn't just go to the kindergarten that day. I had Gael pose as a company employee to get inside the house," Hester said, staring at him. Any trace of the love she once had for him was completely gone, replaced entirely by disgust. Just thinking about the evidence they had gathered from that house made her stomach churn.

"Your wedding photos with Melody are hanging in the master bedroom. You have matching couples' toiletries in the bathroom. There were used condoms in the trash! You have pregnancy planning books on the nightstand, and the nanny addresses you as 'Mr.' and Melody as 'Mrs.'! Is that still not enough for you?"

A flash of genuine shock crossed Julian's eyes. He parted his lips, about to speak, when Hester suddenly clamped a hand over her mouth. She spun around and bolted straight for the private bathroom attached to his office.

The sound of her throwing up echoed from the bathroom.
