Chapter 710 Back Behind the Walls

An ice armored four.legged monster lunged from the side. She dipped the snowmobile’s front end and shd under its claws. As the monster landed after missing, she swung her axe and cut the joint behind its

knee.

The monster dropped to its knees.

TartKing had already jumped off behind it.

Her knees buckled when she hit the ground. Her staff lit up with pale gold light, and she cast a healing spell on Riley first. Right after that, the staff’s light shifted. It turned into her huge Frosted Judgment

Greatsword.

The greatsword was taller than she was.

She held the hilt with both hands and swung flat, using the monster’s own charge momentum.

Boom!

The blade hit the side of the monster’s head and knocked it sideways half a foot. Its claws scraped past her shoulder and failed to catch hold.

Tart King stumbled one step back. A thin shield flickered over her gloves. She switched back to her staff and healed herself.

Her face was pale, her lips bloodless from frost. The snowfield felt even colder.

“Burger! Three more on the right!”

Riley heard the warning. There was no way to keep advancing with the snowmobile.

She let go of the handlebars and jumped off. Her Polar Walker Boots stepped off the bike’s hood, landed on a monster’s back, and she flipped onto open ground in front of the defenses.

Sharp pain shot through her chest when she landed. After borrowing Baal’s power, she felt as though her body might fall apart.

Her left arm grew stiffer. She tried shifting her axe from her right to left hand, but moved too slowly. A snow wolf almost bit through her wrist guard.

Riley’s eyes hardened. She stopped switching hands.

She gripped her axe in one hand and stamped her right foot hard on the snow.

Mountain–Shatter Step!

A shockwave burst across the snow. The three lead monsters‘ front legs buckled, breaking their charge formation. While they lost balance, Riley swung her axe upward. She gutted the first, cut the second’s throat, and kicked the third back into the snow gully.

Chapter 710 Back Behind the Walls

The native guards on Watchtower Two stared in shock for a moment.

The woman snapped out of it first, her voice raw from yelling. “That’s Riley! Give her cover!”

The rest woke up.

“I thought she was at command headquarters. How is she out there?”

“Stop talking! Shoot!”

Crossbow bolts flew out from behind the wooden wall.

Caught between two sides, the monster horde at the front fell into chaos.

Riley did not stay to fight.

“Tart, stick to the right!”

“Got it!”

TartKing held her staff in one hand, still dragging the fading glow of her greatsword. Frequent rapid gear swaps made sweat bead on her forehead.

A monster charged at Riley’s back. TartKing knocked it away with her sword.

Riley’s health dropped to a dangerous level. She switched to her staff and healed her.

A long–tongued monster shot its tongue across the gully toward her ankles. She threw a Rime–Halt Spike.

Frost spread over the tongue and froze it mid.air. Riley swung her axe and chopped the frozen tongue clean in two.

“Open the gate!”

Joseph reached the defensive line.

One look told him this was the real Riley out in the snow.

His throat went tight.

“Open the inner gate! Do not open the outer gate all the way. Crack it only half.way! Crossbows, cover both

sides!”

The gate guards hesitated. They glanced at the woman outside, then looked back at the fake Riley riding C.P. inside the camp.

Two Rileys.

One inside the walls, one out in the snow.

The entire defensive line faltered for an instant.

Chapter 210 Back Behind the Walls

“What are you staring at?” the fake Riley on C.P’s back barked. “Open the gate!”

The guards moved.

The heavy wooden gate cranked open just wide enough for one person.

Riley swung her axe to push back the monsters ahead, then held out fier hand for TartKing. Tart King grabbed her wrist, and Riley pulled her inside. Both dashed through the narrow opening.

A monster charged right behind them, forcing half its head through the gap.
