Chapter 331 Denton Got Drunk
Denton was polite to everyone and joined them for drinks.
That night, he got really drunk.

“Savannah, I really appreciate you. You’re like a real sister to me. Even my parents never treated me this well…”
He mumbled, spilling out his thanks to Savannah, all clumsy but honest.
Businessmen usually drink a little for real, mostly to show off.
Denton knew this well. He had to act well.
And this was exactly the kind of gratitude Savannah wanted from him.
“When I take over Lincoln Group, I’ll make you CEO. You’ll be the queen–giving orders to thousands!” Denton bragged like a kid, nearly tipping over.
Savannah laughed and quickly held him steady. “Mr. Lincoln trained me to help you. No need to act so proper.”
“No way! You’re like a real sister to me. From now on, Lincoln Group is ours!” Denton kept talking, drunk and sincere.
Savannah smiled as she helped him into the car.
He acted the same way during the ride before finally passing out.
Savannah checked the clock. Lily’s plane should have landed by now. She had gotten Denton drunk on purpose–Lily had to complete the plan tonight.
Denton was carried back to Lincoln Estate and thrown onto the bed.
Ernest called Savannah into the hallway.
“Denton is still young. Why let him drink so much? He stinks,” Ernest scolded.
“Dad, tonight went well. Some of the top executives agreed to help Denton take over,” Savannah said proudly.
“But Denton’s still young…” Ernest said, keeping up the act.
“It’s okay. He told me to lead first. He’ll finish school and then take over,” Savannah said, riding the thrill of her success.
“Are you sure he’ll really stick to that?” Ernest asked carefully.

“I don’t trust anyone’s feelings. Only power and interests last,” Savannah said, lifting her chin. She glanced at Nora, bringing Lily in. “And I’ve got Denton’s biggest weakness in my hands.”
Ernest gave Lily a long, meaningful look, then turned back to Savannah and nodded. “Keep it under control.”
Then he left.
It was clear he approved of how his daughter handled things.
Savannah lifted her chin even higher, feeling bolder, and looked at Lily, who was shrinking back. “Tonight, make it perfect. Understand?”
Lily nodded and slipped into Denton’s room.
She tiptoed in and saw Denton lying on the bed, fast asleep.
“Denton?” Lily whispered softly, testing the waters.
No answer.
Feeling nervous, she crept closer and stood by the bed for a long time, unsure if she should touch him.
She hated Savannah and the others. But she loved Denton. She knew her own body was ruined. There was no way she could have a future with him.
But if Denton ended up like her, carrying the virus, could they ever be together?
For a moment, her mind was torn in two. One side told her to do it–destroy him, drag the man she loved down into her own pain.
She took a deep breath, leaned closer, and whispered again, “Denton?” After hesitating for a long time, she reached for his shirt.
But the moment her hand touched the fabric, she froze.
Her eyes filled with tears. She pulled her hand back, as if it had shocked her.
Denton was the most different rich kid she’d ever met. Unlike the others, he was a good person. He didn’t deserve to suffer.
After a long pause, Lily pulled the blanket over him and glanced nervously at the door. Then she crept toward the door, letting out faint, breathy sounds on purpose–setting up a fake scene.
Outside, Savannah listened for a long time. Once she was sure Lily and Denton had done what she wanted, she finally turned away.
Checking the time, Savannah went to the bathroom for a shower.
On the bed, Denton’s eyes opened as soon as Lily went into the bathroom. His gaze was deep and sharp.

He had been testing Lily, too.
Luckily, she hadn’t lost her humanity.

Leaning back against the headboard, Denton waited for her to come out. When Lily came out and saw him awake, she jumped. “Denton…”
Panic washed over her. Did he see what I just did?
Denton lifted a finger to his lips, then patted the space beside him. “Get some rest.”
Lily nodded and lay down awkwardly, covering herself with the blanket, nervous under his gaze.
After a long pause, she decided to be honest. “Denton, there’s something I’ve been hiding. I’m not a good girl. I’m sick. I have HIV…”
It was something that would never go away.
“You’re just sick. Being good or bad has nothing to do with your illness. And I’ve known for a while that Savannah told you to get close to me on purpose,” Denton said, looking at her.
Lily stared at him, shocked. “Denton… I…”
Denton spoke again, calm but sharp. “If you follow the devil, you’ll end up in hell.”
