The makeshift tents lining the roadside looked fragile and flimsy, as if they could collapse at any moment.
Even with international medical supplies trickling in, it was barely a drop in the bucket.
The moment Nella and the others arrived, there was no time to rest. They threw themselves straight into the relief work.
During this time, supplies and medical aid from Craystan arrived in Seldoria daily.
On top of that, equipment for personal protection was also being delivered to the safe zone.
Most of these supplies came from the Keywood Group.
Everyone in the protection zone was deeply grateful whenever they received these shipments.
One day, while Nella was doing her routine checkups on patients, she heard a familiar voice speaking fluent Elvish just outside the tent.
“Put the patient over here. I’ll examine her.”
Nella looked toward the voice. Even though the person was fully geared up, she recognized the face beneath the white mask and goggles.
“Wesley?”
Confusion and surprise escaped her lips.
The man looked up. Behind the goggles, his eyes curved into a gentle smile.
Nella finished what she was working on before walking over to him. “What are you doing here?”
“I quit my job at the medical school.”
Wesley said.
They were still in the middle of treating patients, so there was no time for a long conversation. They quickly got back to work.
It wasn’t until late that night that they finally had a chane to talk. They had returned to the rest area and changed out of their protective gear.
“I came as a volunteer with Doctors Without Borders.”
Wesley spoke first, his gaze lingering on Nella’s face with a hint of longing.
“Sunny, it’s only been a few days and you’ve already lost weight.”
His voice was tinged with emotion, but his eyes were usually bright.
Ever since Nella found out how Wesley felt about her, haring him call her “Sunny” felt different now.
She laughed awkwardly.
“Wesley, I’m way too old for that nickname. Can you please stop using it? It’s kind of weird.”

But Wesley just smiled. “I think it suits you perfectly.”

Nella felt helpless. She wished she had never mentioned that her childhood nickname was the same as the kitten’s.
As if reading her mind, Wesley said, “Did it ever occur to you that the kitten was named after you?”
Nella froze, her eyes widening in surprise.
She quickly understood what he meant.
But wait… how did he even know her nickname was Sunny?
She had never told anyone.
Wesley saw the confusion in her eyes. His gaze softened as he looked at her.
“Four years ago, I heard Professor Milo call you that. I never forgot.”
Four years ago…
Nella thought back to when she was still doing her doctorate at Apex.
Back then, she spent most of her time in the lab.
She vaguely remembered one time when she stepped out of the lab and ran into her father.
He must have been teasing her, because he called out her childhood nickname on purpose.
She had pretended not to hear, even holding up her notebook to cover her face as she scurried away.
