“Mr. Griffith, why did you follow us again? You should be with your Joanna. What are you doing here? Get out. You’re not welcome here.”
Natalie’s tone was perfectly calm, without a ripple of emotion.
Joanna’s schemes were everywhere. No matter where they were, that woman found a way to plot against them.
Luna and the others had almost died at her hands today. She wouldn’t give that woman another chance to hurt her friends and family.
Someone like Joanna deserved to be dealt with by someone like Miles Scott.
Sebastian looked at her icy expression and said nothing. He walked in, sat down, and looked at Sean.
Natalie was speechless.
Seeing Sebastian like this, Sean thought he was both pitiful and shameless.
Remembering how terrifying Joanna could be, Sean hesitated for a moment before speaking slowly, “Look, Sebastian, I’m stable. You don’t need to hover here—go home and get some sleep.”
Sebastian shot him a cold glance. “You know, silence is golden, Sean. You should try it before you say something even stupider”
A faint hint of helplessness colored his deep voice.
Sean fell silent and said no more.
Natalie came in and had a nurse set up IV drips for Luna and Sean.
She sat to the side, scrolling through her phone, ignoring Sebastian.
Sebastian’s gaze, however, followed her every move.
Natalie checked the latest trending topics on social media. The news about Joanna had disappeared.
But the story about her rescue was still a top trending topic.
The comments below were all uniformly positive.
Natalie shook her head. “No need, Luna. A hospital isn’t for generating hype; it’s for treating patients. Our hospital doesn’t rely on publicity stunts; it relies on medical skill. Every doctor here is exceptionally skilled.”
Luna thought about it and agreed. With Herbert overseeing things, her sister’s hospital always had a steady stream of patients.
His surgical schedule was booked solid for the next six months.
Listening to their conversation, Sebastian understood one thing: Natalie had a deep connection to this hospital.
She also knew medicine and could perform complex surgeries. Herbert was her senior colleague. It was only now that he realized he didn’t know his young wife at all.
She was so brilliant—so why did she stay silent while everyone dismissed her as some unrefined girl from the backwaters?
He asked, “Natalie, you’re so capable. Why did you hide it all?”
Natalie looked up at him sharply, a faint smile on her lips. “I never hid anything. None of you ever cared about me, so how could you see my talents? Your gazes never once lingered on me.”
“In your eyes, I was just some girl from the countryside. You looked down on me from the bottom of your hearts. Even if I had told you I was a doctor, who would have believed me? Would you have?”
