Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 150

Lucas walked in and saw the neat rows of medicine cabinets, each labeled with various herbs. He let out a gasp. This was his dream room.

Lucas's hands started to itch. He also loved studying medicinal herbs, though his interest leaned more towards toxicology.

Lucas said, "Grandma, the gift you got for Natalie is so unique. At first, I thought you were going to give her Hermès bags or custom jewelry."

Mrs. Lockwood scoffed, "Would your Natalie even like something so tacky?"

Natalie shook her head. She really had no interest in those things.

Seeing Natalie shake her head, Lucas suddenly became agitated.

"Whether it's tacky or not is one thing, but our Natalie has to have everything other girls have!"

Lucas believed that if other girls liked designer bags and brand names, then his Natalie must have them too.

Natalie said, "I don't like those bags and jewelry. Right now, I feel like I'm in a dream. To have such a wonderful apothecary where I can study traditional medicine, and with the library next door filled with rare, out-of-print medical books... I'm so thrilled. Mrs. Lockwood, thank you."

In truth, no one knew how much Natalie had longed for a quiet place of her own to read medical texts and formulate remedies.

Natalie was startled and said hastily, "No, no, that's not necessary. I don't need those things. I'm not a person of high status. Even if I carried a designer bag, people would just think it's a cheap knockoff. Besides, there's no reason to buy those for me. I'm already on a salary; I can't just accept those things for free."

When she was with the Cross family, Darren had bought her a few Hermès bags, but Mrs. Cross had taken them all away.

She then tossed Natalie a few of her old, used bags. Natalie never touched them. When she needed a bag, she used her own canvas tote, which was practical and had a large capacity.

Mrs. Lockwood said excitedly, "Natalie, you're so silly. If he wants to give them to you, just accept them. Worst case, you can sell them to a consignment shop and make some money."

Natalie was speechless. Oh my, how could she say that so brazenly? Wasn't she ripping off her own son?
