Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 223

Just as Natalie was about to give him a massage, Terence suddenly grabbed her hand. “What if I insist on inviting it?”

He moved closer to her. His eyes were deep, his nose perfectly straight. Up close, his features were breathtaking. A possessive aura emanated from him, making Natalie anxious.

“Mr. Lockwood, are you afraid of the treatment again? There’s only one left. You can let go now.”

Terence’s lips curved into a slight smile. She was quite adept at changing the subject. A little lamb trying so hard to run away, but it was too late.

Natalie nervously finished the treatment. After a moment of thought, she said, “There’s something I need to ask of you, Mr. Lockwood.”

Asking him for a favor? That was a first.

“I’m at your service.”

Terence’s gentle smile made Natalie even more flustered.

She lowered her head, picked up a box, and handed it to him.

“I gave Old Mrs. Lockwood a bracelet I made with some aromatic herbs, and in return, she gave me this. After thinking it over, I feel this bracelet is just too valuable to accept. Since she wouldn’t take it back, I can only give it to you.”

Old Mrs. Lockwood had insisted she take it. When Natalie had shown it to Mrs. Lockwood, she had told her to keep it. Her only remaining option was to give it to Terence.

Terence saw that the bracelet in her hand was… the “Emerald Seraph.”

“This is a Lockwood family heirloom. It’s passed down to the daughters-in-law of the family.”

“What?”

Natalie was shocked. She knew imperial violet jade was even more precious than imperial green and could be a legacy piece, but she never imagined it was meant for a Lockwood daughter-in-law. That changed everything.

“Old Mrs. Lockwood must have made a mistake. You must keep something this valuable safe.”

Terence asked, “Am I really that bad? So bad that you won’t even consider settling for me?”

Natalie countered, “Am I really that funny? So funny that you always have to joke with me?”

Her innocent, bewildered reaction almost made Terence laugh out loud. Teasing this woman was truly entertaining.

“Do I look like I’m not serious, making you think I’m always joking?”

“I get it,” Natalie said. “You’re a good father trying to find a mother for Lucas and Liana. I hope you find what you’re looking for. I’ll hold onto this bracelet for you for now. You can consider it my wedding gift to you when the time comes.”

“Rejecting me is one thing, but offering to give me a wedding gift? That’s just heartbreaking.”

“Fine, no gift then. How about I sell it and skip town?”

Terence was at a loss for words.
