Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 250

Darren’s eyes were slightly red, as if he had made a monumental decision.

Natalie froze, turning back to look at him.

He was pressing his lips together stubbornly, a shattered look on his face.

Natalie tilted her head slightly, studying him with the wary disbelief of a clever animal.

The moment a small smile touched her lips, the cold distance in her eyes stabbed at Darren’s heart.

He suddenly lunged forward and pulled her into an embrace, his warm palm pressing her head against his chest.

He just wanted her to hear the anxious thumping of his heart, a rhythm that beat only for her.

“That day in the car, nothing happened between us.

“I admit she’s my ex-girlfriend, but after she married my older brother, I was fully aware that she was my sister-in-law. How could I do something like that with her? Natalie, am I really that despicable in your eyes?”

Natalie didn’t answer, nor did she push him away.

Her mind was blank, her heart numb.

She had worked so hard to rip him out of her heart, to cleanse herself of him completely. Why was he trying to worm his way back in now?

Darren desperately wanted a response from her, wanted her to forgive him, wanted them to go back to how they were.

His voice was gentle. “I’m sorry I let you misunderstand. I was too proud. I thought your love for me meant you would always be at my beck and call, but now I realize I’m the one who should be bowing down to you. Please, forgive me. I’ll resolve all our problems. If you don’t want her here, I’ll make her leave.”

Darren repeated his promise to get rid of Marie.

Once you’ve started down a new path, why would you ever turn back?

Darren was stunned. He had swallowed his pride, humbled himself, and even agreed to get rid of Marie. He had gone this far, and she still wouldn’t forgive him?

“Natalie, I apologized, and I’ll make Marie leave the Cross family. Why are you still fighting this? Are you going to choose those other men over me and Hanley?”

“You haven’t even done what you promised. You expect me to forgive you based on a verbal commitment? Then what about the five years of pain I went through? Was I just supposed to endure it?”

Darren froze, seemingly unable to comprehend how Natalie had become so assertive. The woman he knew had been gentle and submissive, nothing like the person standing before him now.

Seeing his confused frown, she didn’t want to argue any further.

“Let’s talk again when you’ve actually delivered on your promise.”
