Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 258

A scratch? His ear was practically falling off! It had to have been Terence who attacked him. But how did he do it?

Just then, Darren noticed something stuck in the wall—a silver needle. So that’s what had flown past his ear and injured him. But there was no weapon in Terence’s hands. How had he managed to wound him so badly with just a needle?

Darren kept his hand pressed to his ear, feeling a mix of confusion and fury. Meanwhile, Natalie was kneeling beside Terence, her slender, fair fingers gently touching his legs. Her movements were careful and soft. Kneeling beside him like that, she looked so docile, like a tamed wildcat.

Darren felt like he was about to explode.

He strode forward, pulling Natalie to her feet. “Kneeling on the ground and touching his legs like that… if anyone sees, they’ll get the wrong idea,” he said sternly.

Natalie yanked her hand back, her expression cold. “The wrong idea? What wrong idea?”

Her eyes were distant but held a chilling frost that made Darren feel inexplicably guilty.

“We’re all adults here. You know what I mean.”

A contemptuous smirk flashed across Natalie’s lips before her face returned to its icy mask. “I don’t know, and I don’t want to know.”

She tried to walk back to Terence, but Darren blocked her way.

“You’re Hanley’s mother. You should keep your distance from other men. It will upset him.”

“How am I supposed to maintain distance while treating a patient?”

“Even when treating a patient, you should maintain some distance,” Darren insisted stubbornly. “There’s a proper decorum between men and women!”

Terence’s eyes turned glacial. “Should we get a chaperone? Perhaps a medical consultation from a safe distance?”

“You cheated, didn’t value what you had, and now that you’re separated, you can’t stop harassing her. Every move you make lands squarely in the 'detestable' category. Isn’t that the definition of doing stupid things?”

Darren’s expression grew heavy. He knew that pestering her wasn't a good look. That’s why he had initially maintained an air of superiority, assuming Natalie would come crawling back. But things hadn’t gone according to plan.

Not only had she not come back, but she had also given up on Hanley and was now surrounded by a swarm of admirers. If he maintained his old attitude, he truly would have no chance. That would be real stupidity.

“Mr. Lockwood, you are the president of the Lockwood Group. If you truly need medical attention, you have access to the world’s top doctors. There’s no need to cling to one woman.”

Terence gave him a look of kingly disdain, then turned to Natalie, his voice sincere. “In your eyes, she may only be fit to be a housewife. But in my eyes, she is the top doctor in the world.”

Terence’s gaze was deep, his words genuine, his eyes filled with praise for her.

Natalie felt a slight tremor inside her. She had never been affirmed like this before. She was happy. She even wondered if this was what people called emotional validation.
