Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 276

“He is marrying his own sister-in-law, and not only are you not hiding it, you’re flaunting it. The Cross family really has no shame!” Mrs. Lockwood’s eyes were sharp, her gaze a dagger aimed at Victoria.

Victoria’s face turned green with rage. “You’re just some nobody. How dare you speak to me like that? Don’t think you can ride Natalie’s coattails to success. Let me tell you, she has no chance of marrying into the Lockwood family, and she certainly can’t protect you. You’ve offended me, and the Cross family will make you regret it!”

Victoria gestured wildly at Mrs. Lockwood, completely oblivious.

“Watch yourself!” the butler interjected sharply. “This is the Lockwood estate, not your home!”

The sudden reprimand startled Victoria. Why was this old butler suddenly so aggressive? Was there a rule against raising your voice here?

Mrs. Lockwood shot the butler a look to silence him, then turned back to Victoria with a smirk. “I may be a nobody, but at least I have a sense of decency. If you want your younger son to marry his sister-in-law, no one’s stopping you. In fact, it’s a public service when a scumbag and a tramp get together—it keeps them from bothering decent people. But showing up here to flaunt it in Natalie’s face… old witch, are you unwell?”

Mrs. Lockwood’s words slapped Victoria harder than a physical blow.

Calling her son and Marie a scumbag and a tramp?

She had come here to gloat, and now she was the one being humiliated. Victoria was so furious she could have died on the spot.

“You have a sharp tongue, but it’s all nonsense! And… who are you calling ‘old witch’?” The title hit Victoria the hardest.

This old hag had conveniently forgotten how she went from being paralyzed in bed to screeching like a banshee.

It was Natalie, pregnant and all, who had nursed her back to health. Natalie never should have saved her.

Victoria was about to blow a gasket. She had come to embarrass Natalie and send a message to the Lockwood family that Natalie was just their cast-off. She never expected to run into Natalie’s sharp-tongued friend, a brat who was pushing her to the brink of an aneurysm.

Seeing that Mrs. Lockwood was a tough nut to crack, Victoria redirected her attack. “Natalie, why are you so quiet? Too heartbroken to speak? I suppose that’s understandable. After five years as my son’s lapdog, you saw it wasn’t working and thought a divorce would get his attention. Well, that blew up in your face, didn’t it? My son is marrying Marie now. You should come to the wedding early… I’ll make sure there are plenty of tissues at your table.”
