Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 290

Seeing Terence, Darren’s expression visibly darkened.

He was being pursued relentlessly by both the adult and the children.

With a deep look in his eyes, Darren said, “There’s been a misunderstanding between us. Once we clear the air, we can still be a family.”

“Clear the air? How do you plan on doing that? Setting aside your relationship with Marie, for the five years Natalie was with the Cross family, you let your mother and Marie treat her like a maid. Your own son even slandered her in public, shouting that he wanted another woman to be his mother. Do you think you can just brush all that away by ‘clearing the air’?”

Darren fell silent. Terence’s gaze was icy as he continued, “It’s my fault. I’ve let you have too much free time, so much that you have the energy to orchestrate these deceptive little shows.”

A sense of crisis suddenly washed over Darren. He knew Terence wouldn’t say something like that for no reason.

Just then, Darren’s phone rang. It was his assistant.

“Mr. Cross, we have a huge problem at the company. Citing issues with our credibility, clients are canceling their orders one after another. Given the Cross Group’s current financial situation, we’ll be forced to declare bankruptcy. You need to get back here and handle this immediately.”

Darren hung up and stared at Terence, his eyes cold. “Mr. Lockwood, you’re going after my company again. That’s a low blow.”

“And what you did wasn’t? I wasn’t planning on bankrupting you, but that drone show you arranged was utterly disgusting. I have no desire to see a repeat performance.”

“So you’re just going to ruin me completely?”

“Wrong. People like you don’t listen to reason. The only way to stop you from playing your cheap tricks is to let you struggle in a sea of misery.”

Darren was grinding his teeth in frustration. He turned to Natalie. “Do you want to see the Cross Group go bankrupt too?”

Natalie replied calmly, “I don’t have the power to bankrupt the Cross Group. You should hurry back and deal with your company’s crisis. After all, the Cross Group is your concern, not mine.”

“Actually, we weren’t just afraid you’d be fooled. We were more afraid you’d go with him.”

Terence’s gaze was intense as he looked at Natalie.

If Darren was deceiving Natalie, he deserved to be punished. But if he wasn’t, and Natalie chose to forgive him, then he and his two children would be all alone again. He wasn't going to give up that easily.

Lucas said, “Wow, Dad, you’re so honest. I was just about to tell Natalie not to fall for his tricks, that he’s a total jerk. But you just admitted you were scared of losing her. Dad, you’re worthy of Natalie. To be honest, my sister and I were also terrified that Natalie would leave with that jerk.”

Liana nodded vigorously, her heart pounding in her chest.

[Natalie, Liana was so scared you would leave us, scared you didn’t want us anymore.]
