"Darren won't see you. Why should he?"
"A worthless mutt like you doesn't deserve to see my son. Get lost!"
As Victoria and Marie tried to drive her away, Kate stubbornly kept shouting, "Darren! Darren, you get out here! You owe me an explanation! Get out here!"
Marie, incensed, grabbed a broom left by a cleaner and started swinging it at Kate.
"You ungrateful wretch! I told you to get lost, but you're still here screaming. I'll beat you, you stray dog!"
Marie unleashed all her pent-up anger toward Natalie onto Kate, striking her with the broom again and again without hesitation.
"You piece of trash! You think you deserve to see Darren? You want to stand up for that shameless daughter of yours? I'll kill you!"
Marie attacked Kate like a madwoman.
When Natalie arrived, she saw Marie beating her mother as if she were an animal.
Furious, she rushed forward and kicked Marie away.
"Mom, are you okay?"
Natalie hugged her mother tightly. "Mom, it doesn't matter if Darren is marrying Marie or someone else. It has nothing to do with us anymore. He and I are divorced."
At that moment, Kate’s world collapsed. In her mind, a divorced woman was an object of ridicule. The women of her generation would endure beatings and verbal abuse, gritting their teeth but never divorcing.
"But he told me he wanted to remarry you! I have to find him. I need him to explain this to me," Kate insisted, unwilling to give up.
Seeing Kate's miserable state, Victoria and Marie grew even more smug. Marie stepped forward triumphantly. "How could your daughter possibly compare to me? I am a Ward, and now I'm the sole heir of the Ward family. Do you have any idea how much money I used to save the Cross Group? Five hundred million dollars! Do you have that? I doubt you could even scrape together fifty thousand."
Victoria also emerged, saying imperiously, "How could a prestigious family like ours ever let your daughter in? She shamelessly forced her way in with a pregnancy. Kicking her out now is only natural. How dare you two come here and cause trouble."

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
