Marie was furious. "That's absurd! How could you possibly be Terence's mother? Do you think we'll believe you just because you hired a few people to put on a show? Are you trying to make fools of us?"
Victoria was just as defiant. "You're just a bunch of clowns from the countryside. Stop putting on an act."
At that moment, neither Marie nor Victoria would accept the truth. Mrs. Lockwood looked far too young to be Terence's mother.
What infuriated them even more was the thought that Natalie would be rejected by the Lockwood family elders. They had imagined Terence's mother would despise Natalie and make her life miserable. The thought of her suffering had brought them joy. But now, this woman seemed to have a good relationship with Natalie. If she really was Terence's mother, it meant the Lockwood elders approved of her. The idea was more painful than a knife twisting in their flesh.
Mrs. Lockwood sneered. "You foolish people. I graciously tell you my identity, and you're too stupid to believe it. But it doesn't matter. I don't need you to believe me. All you need to know is that Natalie is now the daughter-in-law of the Lockwood family. If you dare to bully her or her mother, you are making an enemy of the Lockwood family."
Mrs. Lockwood's smile vanished, her expression turning grave and imposing. The aura she projected was undeniably that of someone in power.
A woman in her twenties couldn't possess such a formidable presence. Victoria's confidence faltered.
Kate was deeply moved. She walked over and said, "Mrs. Lockwood, I'm sorry. I was wrong. I was still hoping for my daughter to reconcile with Darren. Thank you for not looking down on my daughter."
Kate had always believed that once Natalie was divorced, she would be worthless and have no future. That was why she had pushed for her to get back with Darren.
Even though she knew Terence and his family treated Natalie well, she still felt uneasy. After all, Natalie had a child. How could a prestigious family like the Lockwoods accept her? She figured it was just a passing fancy.
Darren also looked at Natalie. *An honor for him?* Was she really going to marry Terence?
She had managed to win over not just Terence, but his mother too. What a talent.
If she was so capable, why had she failed to win over his own mother all these years? It seemed she just hadn't wanted to.
Darren's eyes were dark as he stared at Natalie. She met his gaze without flinching. Between the two of them, who was truly indebted to whom?

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
