Three days later, at the Lockwood estate.
Hanley had snuck into the Lockwood family grounds by hiding among a delivery crew.
The Lockwood manor was magnificent, far more beautiful than their own mansion.
He used to think their multi-million dollar home was impressive, but seeing the Lockwood estate made him realize the vast difference.
A heavy feeling settled in Hanley's heart as a dark thought crept into his mind.
Was this beautiful place the reason his mommy didn't want him and Daddy anymore?
So his mommy only cared about money after all.
Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, Hanley, as the only grandson and future heir of the Cross family, was used to getting whatever he wanted. He had always been at the top of the pyramid, boasting about his wealth at school. He never imagined that in the concept of despising the poor and favoring the rich, he would ever be classified as "poor."
But reality had dealt him a heavy blow.
Hanley tried to reassure himself. The most important thing now was to find his mommy and get her to save Grandma.
Only Mommy could save Grandma.
Where was she? The Lockwood estate was so huge that Hanley was completely lost.
Suddenly, he spotted Terence sitting alone by a pond. He was in a wheelchair, with no one around.
This was the man who had nearly bankrupted the Cross Group. This was the man who had stolen his mommy. If it weren't for him, his mommy would have surely come to her senses.
She would have realized how hard things were without his daddy. It was this man who had led his mommy further and further away.
It was all his fault!
The more Hanley thought about it, the angrier he became. He glanced around and saw no one. Quietly, he crept up behind Terence.
Caught, Hanley looked embarrassed but remained stubborn. "I… I… Why should I have to tell you?"
Just then, Natalie arrived with Terence's medicine and was shocked to see Hanley soaking wet.
"Hanley, what are you doing here?"
Hanley didn't know how to explain. Terence just smiled.
"He thought the fish population in my pond was a bit low and decided to add to the numbers."
"What?"
Natalie frowned, wondering what had happened.
Though she didn't know the details, it was clear her son, dripping wet, had fallen into the pond.

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
