Victoria was cursing into the phone.
“Darren, have you gone to pick up Marie yet?”
“I know.”
At that moment, Darren was still sitting on his bed. The maid had brought in his tuxedo long ago, but he hadn’t put it on.
This was the first time in his life he would wear a groom’s suit.
He owed Natalie a wedding. They never had one, right up until their divorce.
He had brought her into the Cross family, where she gave birth to their child, took care of his mother, and looked after the entire family.
He suddenly understood how wronged Natalie must have felt. She had put up with so much in this family.
Darren clutched the tuxedo, his fists tightening around the fabric.
The expensive suit crumpled in his hands like a piece of cloth.
His eyes were bloodshot, and his heart ached with the same sharp pain as the crushed fabric.
But then, another voice echoed in his mind.
If she felt wronged, why didn't she tell you? If she wanted a wedding, you would have given her one.
Besides, she didn't leave you because you didn't have a wedding. She left because she had a new target. She wanted Terence, a man with more power than you.
Darren’s brow furrowed, his expression growing darker.
He finally put on the tuxedo. He was determined to make Natalie regret ever leaving him.
He would climb to a position higher than Terence’s. He would make the Cross family into a new powerhouse.
Was he out of his mind? Her last wedding was with his older brother.
Today was their wedding day. What was he trying to say?
Why did he have to bring up a dead man? What was he thinking?
Marie was so furious she wanted to rip off her veil and call the whole thing off.
Just then, her mother, Elaine Ward, quickly grabbed her arm. “He’s the man you chose,” she whispered. “You’re getting married today. Don’t make a scene.”
Persuaded by her mother, Marie got into the wedding car. She reined in her anger and said to Darren, “I’m finally marrying you today. We’ll be a real husband and wife. After all this time, we’ve finally found our way back to each other. We’re soulmates.”
Marie was thrilled. Darren had always been the one she wanted to marry. It was just that the old Darren had no interest in the business world. But now, he had become her perfect husband.
“Soulmates? But if this is destiny, it was paid for with my brother’s life.”

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
