Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 382

Darren's face was grim. For him, this wedding was nothing more than a transaction.

He had no real desire to get married, and with all the mishaps, he was finding the whole affair utterly tedious.

Victoria turned to Marie. "The important thing is to have the ceremony. We'll just work with the guests we have."

She figured she could negotiate with the hotel later to minimize their losses.

Just then, a crowd of strangers and reporters surged into the hall.

"The Cross family is so generous! Turning a wedding of this caliber into a public feast. We're in for a treat today!"

"Mrs. Cross, you're so magnanimous! It's true what they say, the rich are a different breed."

"When the staff told us to come in, that the hosts were inviting everyone to eat, I didn't believe it. I can't believe there are so many empty seats. No, I mean, so many seats prepared! You must be incredibly wealthy."

Victoria was dumbfounded. What idiot let these people in?

Each table cost $18,888. Letting them eat for free would be a massive loss.

Victoria was about to explain that it was all a misunderstanding.

But just then, the bus she had sent to the countryside arrived.

A horde of old women and a gaggle of children flooded in, scrambling to find seats as if afraid they'd miss out.

The scene devolved into chaos.

Victoria was completely stunned. Where did these people come from? She didn't know a single one of them. They certainly weren't her relatives.

"Who are you people? This is a private wedding reception! What are you doing here? You're in the wrong place!"

"This is the Cross family wedding, isn't it? We're in the right place. Didn't you donate money to our seniors' club to celebrate your son's second marriage and invite us all to a free feast?"

Her dream wedding had turned into a circus.

The beautifully decorated venue was now overrun with children who were pulling at the floral arrangements.

The sudden influx of reporters, country folk, and rowdy kids made the few actual high-society guests frown in disapproval.

What was supposed to be the wedding of the century had become a chaotic free-for-all.

This was, without a doubt, the most disorderly wedding they had ever attended.

At this point, it wasn't just Darren who wanted to leave. Marie felt like flipping a table herself rather than let these people take advantage of her.

She turned on Victoria, her voice dripping with rage.

"This is a mess! The reporters already cheapened the event, and now we have these... these smelly old women running around! I told you not to invite your country relatives, but you wouldn't listen. Well, congratulations! Whoever wants to get married in this chaotic mess can have at it!"
