Elaine Ward was stunned. She couldn't believe Terence would dare to threaten them like this. This was a police station, after all.
Richard said, "Mr. Lockwood, we know you're protective of Ms. Verdan, and we're willing to apologize to her. Can't you please show my daughter some mercy?"
As the head of the Ward family, he knew when to bend and, more importantly, when to back down.
There was no way they could win a direct fight against the Lockwood family.
"Too late. She's definitely going to prison. She might even get a bullet to go with it."
A bullet! Marie's heart dropped. She didn't want to die!
"Mom, Dad, save me!"
Richard's tone hardened. "Mr. Lockwood, I know you look down on the Ward family, but we won't just sit back and let you do this!"
Terence replied, "Richard, head of the Ward family. Are you getting senile? Going deaf?"
"What do you mean by that?"
"I said I have evidence. Are you deaf? Should I get you a hearing aid?"
He had evidence?
"I think your eyesight is failing, too. Even if I handed you the evidence, you wouldn't understand it. Looks like I'll just have to give it directly to the police."
Evidence? For the police?
Hearing this, Marie lost control and shrieked, "Mom, Dad, save me! I don't want to go to jail! What evidence? It's all just a frame-up! Save me! Natalie, Terence, you've already ruined my wedding and had me dragged here. Isn't that enough? Do you really have to send me to prison? You're so cruel!"
Elaine pleaded, "Mr. Lockwood, we know you're doing this to get back at us for Ms. Verdan. My daughter's wedding is ruined. Ms. Verdan should be satisfied. You can't keep trying to destroy my daughter!"
Richard added, "Mr. Lockwood, I may be old, but I won't stand by and watch you frame my daughter and send her to jail!"
"How ignorant," Terence said with a cold arrogance.
Marie's fear and guilt began to fade.
She lifted her chin and said defiantly, "Mr. Lockwood, I never thought the CEO of the Lockwood Group would stoop to being a thief for Natalie's sake. This laptop isn't even worth much!"
Natalie watched as Marie became visibly more arrogant.
It was a complete reversal from the panicked, guilty woman she had been just moments ago.
It seemed the laptop held no real evidence, which was why she was acting so bold.
Still, Natalie didn't think Terence would bring out a laptop that held no threat. It didn't make sense.
What was she missing?
Facing Marie's taunts, Terence remained calm. "So you can still run your mouth? Good. At least you'll have the energy to keep making excuses."
Marie gritted her teeth in frustration, but she wasn't scared. There was absolutely no evidence on that laptop.

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
