Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 419

Mrs. Lockwood immediately stood up. "Mom, what are you doing? You don't have to shout like that, you'll scare Natalie. She's going to see her son. He's just a little boy, waiting at the gate."

After she spoke, Mrs. Lockwood gave Natalie a look, urging her to leave quickly. She was afraid the old woman would suddenly force Natalie to choose.

The Lockwood family or her son?

That would be incredibly awkward.

Mrs. Lockwood finished and again gestured with her eyes for Natalie to go.

Natalie said, "Old Mrs. Lockwood, if my son has come to find me, something must be wrong. I have to go check on him. I'm sorry to leave now."

As Natalie turned to leave, the matriarch spoke again. "I said, stop right there."

Her voice was even louder this time, and everyone's hearts leaped into their throats.

Mrs. Lockwood said angrily, "Mom, what is wrong with you? You can't possibly expect her to abandon her own child. He's the son she carried and gave birth to. I know what you're thinking. You think that since Natalie is divorced and has a child, it would be fine if she cut ties with him to join our family, but how is that possible? That's her child, her own flesh and blood. How can you ask her to abandon him? Mom, if you insist on this, you're being completely unreasonable."

Lucas stood up as well. "Great-grandma, Natalie's son is in my class. He's a really nice and smart kid. You'll definitely like him."

Terence said, "Natalie, go find Hanley. He's waiting for you. Don't keep a child waiting too long."

Lucas added, "That's right, Great-grandma. Natalie's son came to see her. You can't expect her to ignore him and have dinner with you, right? It's not right to leave a kid waiting at the gate. Even if she stayed, she'd be too worried to eat."

Before Mrs. Lockwood could speak, the matriarch turned to her. "You don't have to say anything. I know what you're going to say. You also think I'm a terrible person for not letting Natalie see her son, don't you?"

Her words stunned everyone. What did she mean by that?

The matriarch was exasperated. "When I told her to stop, it was because I wanted to tell her to bring the boy in to eat with us! We prepared so much food, we'll never finish it all. If the child is here at this hour, he probably hasn't eaten. I just wanted to suggest we all eat together. But instead, you all treated me like the villain, like I'm your target. What is wrong with you? Did I become a monster in my old age?"

After hearing her explanation, everyone was instantly embarrassed. Mrs. Lockwood wrapped her arm around the matriarch. "Mom, I'm so sorry. We judged you unfairly. We were completely out of line."
