Hearing this, Terence frowned at Natalie.
She wanted to release the video? But that would be a huge blow to Hanley.
When Philip heard Natalie say to release the video, he was instantly thrilled.
He looked at Natalie as if she were a living saint.
He said excitedly, "Ms. Verdan, are you really agreeing to release the video? That's a brilliant decision. An ungrateful child who only cares about others isn't worth protecting anyway!"
Terence shot him a harsh glare, and Philip immediately clamped his mouth shut.
"You don't have to listen to him," Terence said, looking at Natalie. "The heat from this will die down soon enough. People will forget about it. If we release this video now, the internet will be flooded with attacks on Hanley. The cyberbullying will be like a tidal wave. He's so young, will he be able to handle it?"
"You're right. If this video gets out, a lot of people will attack Hanley. They'll call him a pathological liar. They'll say he has no morals, that he'll grow up to be a good-for-nothing!"
The Cross family had dared to pull this stunt because they were exploiting her reluctance to see her child cyberbullied, weren't they?
But this time, she wouldn't back down.
"People will say all sorts of things, but Hanley needs to face the consequences. How can I allow him to hurt you all again?"
Previously, Natalie had been worried about her child's future and how vicious people's words could be. She didn't want anyone attacking or cursing Hanley. It was a mother's instinct to protect her child. But now, seeing Terence, the true victim, protect her son so fiercely, she felt ashamed.
Besides, what started as a small incident had been secretly manipulated by someone behind the scenes.
Terence looked at Natalie, pleased that she was thinking of them and wanted to teach Hanley a lesson by releasing the video.
But Hanley was still her child, and he didn't want her to be needlessly distressed.
"I know you're doing this for me, to teach him a lesson. I'm happy about that. That's enough."
Terence was like a great lion; no matter how the little cub acted out, he wouldn't hold it against him, simply because that cub was Natalie's son.
"You have your magnanimity, but I must have my sense of right and wrong! I admit, I wanted to protect Hanley before. I didn't want him to be cyberbullied and condemned by everyone. But that's exactly what the Cross family used to corner us, and it only made Hanley more brazen.
"He wasn't hurt that day, but his arms and legs were bandaged as if he were seriously injured. That was all done to make sure you would face even more public attacks."

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
