Before, whenever he arrived, a crowd of children would always gather around him. That number dwindled after Lucas and Liana came.
But it had never been like this. It felt as if everyone was avoiding him like the plague.
Feeling a tightness in his chest, he stood up to get a drink of water, only to find that his cup was missing.
“Where’s my cup? Who took my water cup?”
A small boy stood up and said, “Hanley, your cup is over there. I was afraid your cup has a virus, so I didn't want it next to ours. We don't want to become liars like you.”
“What nonsense are you talking about? You want me to punch you?”
“You didn’t get punched for lying, so why should I get punched? Besides, my daddy and mommy told me not to get too close to you. They’d have a real headache if I turned into a problem child like you.”
Then, other children chimed in. “Yeah, yeah! My mommy said the same thing, not to get too close to him. Otherwise, if I start plotting against people at such a young age like him, my whole life will be ruined.”
Hanley was about to explode. How dare they treat him this way? He was the young master of the Cross family, the heir to the Ward Group!
How could they do this to him?
“You’re all a bunch of fools! I wouldn’t want my cup near peasants like you anyway. After all, I’m the future heir of the Cross family. In the future, you won’t even be worthy of meeting me!”
“But we heard a lot of grown-ups at the gate saying your family’s company is about to collapse. What are you so proud of?”
Hanley was furious. Not only could he not intimidate the adults anymore, but now he couldn't even command respect from his classmates? Did everyone look down on him now?
The blow to Hanley’s pride was immense.
“Nonsense! I don’t want to talk to ignorant people like you!”
Hanley stomped back to his seat. The table was meant for a group of four.
The classroom fell silent. No one wanted to sit with Hanley.
The teacher said, “Felix, you and Hanley usually play together, don’t you? Would you like to sit with him?”
Felix shook his head. “No way, Teacher. I don’t want to sit with someone who hurts people.”
“Leo, how about you? Didn’t you say Hanley’s drawings are really good and that you thought he was amazing?”
Leo stood up and said, “Teacher, even if someone is good at drawing, if they lie and hurt people, they’re not a good person. I don’t want to sit with a bad kid.”
The teacher asked around, but no one was willing to sit with Hanley.
Listening to their criticism and rejection, Hanley was overcome with anger.

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
