“What do you mean she doesn’t remember us? How could that happen?”
Just then, they heard Grace scream from inside. They rushed back into the room.
They found Grace staring at her reflection in the mirror, utterly panicked.
“My face! How did my face get like this? What happened to my face?”
Mrs. Lockwood immediately went to her and took her hands. “Mom, what’s wrong? What’s bothering you?”
Grace looked at Mrs. Lockwood with the same panicked expression.
“Who are you? Why are you calling me ‘Mom’? I only have a son, no daughters.”
“Mom, it’s me, your daughter-in-law. Don’t you remember me?”
“What nonsense are you talking about? My son is only three years old. How could he have a wife your age? Even if I wanted to find him a child bride, I wouldn’t pick someone as old as you.”
What? Her son was only three?
Mrs. Lockwood was stunned. The shock had triggered her mother-in-law’s dementia.
“Mom, do you really not recognize me?”
“You’re about my age. Stop calling me ‘Mom,’ it’s weird.”
Overcome with grief and anger, Mrs. Lockwood spun around and confronted Edgar. “You haven’t come back in fifty years! Why now? Look what you’ve done to my mother! Why did you have to come back? Get out! Get out!”
Simon ran over at the sound of the commotion. “What are you doing? How dare you treat my grandfather like this?”
As soon as Grace saw him, she rushed over and hugged him tightly. “Son, you’ve gotten so tall all of a sudden! And you’re stronger and fairer. This is wonderful.”
“Great-Grandma, what’s wrong? I’m Lucas.”
“What ‘Great-Grandma’? Aaron, it’s me, your mother.”
Lucas was confused. Natalie explained, “Lucas, your great-grandmother is sick. It’s okay. For now, just let her call you whatever she wants.”
Natalie knew that Grace couldn’t handle any more stress.
Lucas didn’t understand everything, but he heard that his great-grandmother was sick.
“Great-Grandma,” he said urgently, “if you’re sick, you have to be good and take the medicine Natalie gives you so you can get better.”

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
