Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 509

Terence smiled warmly. “There's no need to be so formal between us. Do you need me to assign some extra men to you?”

Natalie said, “Exactly. After all, if Mr. Ward wakes up, the culprit will have nowhere to hide. Who knows what they might do out of desperation.”

Mrs. Lockwood chimed in, “I get it. To finish the job!”

Marie's face paled.

Terence said, “No problem. I'll send a few trustworthy and sharp men to stand guard at the door. No one will get a chance to harm Mr. Ward.”

Marie's heart sank. She absolutely could not let her brother wake up. She had to make a move. But if Terence stationed guards here, her chances of success would be even slimmer.

Seeing the color drain from Marie's face, Mrs. Lockwood felt a surge of satisfaction.

She looked at Marie and said, “Are you worried now? Still thinking about how to silence him for good? Don't worry, you won't get the chance. I have complete faith in my son's arrangements.”

Marie's parents looked at her with darkening expressions. Marie quickly said, “Mrs. Lockwood, what are you talking about? Why would I harm my own brother? There's been a misunderstanding. I know you all hold a grudge against me because of my history with Natalie, so you always assume the worst of me. But that's alright. Once my brother wakes up, all these misunderstandings will be cleared up.”

Mrs. Lockwood scoffed. This was absolutely ridiculous.

Marie continued, “I've wronged Natalie, and I sincerely apologize. I did many things to hurt her in the past. I was arrogant and reckless. It was all my fault. I sincerely apologize to Natalie.”

“Since Mr. Lockwood has suggested it, I will do as he says. I'll have someone watch Marie. I won't let her run.”

“I'm sure you'll watch her closely for your son's safety,” Terence said. “After all, if she runs, your son will be in even greater danger. An enemy you can see is easy to dodge, but a hidden one is much harder to defend against.”

Richard's face instantly darkened as he looked at Marie, his expression filled with rage.

Marie said frantically, “Dad, it's not true! It really wasn't me who hurt him! When brother wakes up, the truth will come out! Really, it wasn't me! It's all a misunderstanding.”

“The truth will come out when your brother wakes up,” Richard said sternly. “For now, you will behave yourself and not try anything.”
