Natalie's single sentence was a bombshell that blew the room wide open.
The reporters, who had been packing up their equipment, were suddenly jolted as if shot with adrenaline.
"Mrs. Cross, what do you mean by that? Are you saying the man involved in the incident in the car was really Mr. Cross?"
"Mrs. Cross, you said Mr. Cross wouldn't solicit a prostitute. So who was the woman in the car with him? Is it someone you know?"
Darren and Marie were stunned, never imagining Natalie would say something so explosive.
Darren's face went cold. He grabbed Natalie's wrist, his voice sharp. "Natalie, just because Marie stole the spotlight for a second, do you have to cause a scene like this? Why are you so obsessed with competing with her?"
Natalie looked at Darren and found him utterly ridiculous. Even now, he thought she was just in some petty rivalry with *his* sister-in-law.
She forcefully yanked her hand free, her eyes flashing with a fierce light. "Am I the one competing with her, or are you the one... having an affair with her!"
Natalie's gaze was dark and unwavering as she stared at Darren. She had held this in for far too long.
Now that she was giving up on her son, she no longer needed to hide her plans to leave the country.
Finally, she didn't have to endure their hypocrisy anymore.
Her words froze Darren's anger in its tracks, leaving him momentarily speechless and disoriented.
At the same time, her accusation stunned everyone in the room. The reporters' faces were a mask of shock, their minds struggling to process the revelation.
This was a bombshell of epic proportions.
An... an affair?
So the man in the car really was Mr. Cross. He wasn't with a prostitute; he was with his own sister-in-law, Marie... having an affair!
It was beyond sensational.
Marie, flushed with humiliation and rage, pointed a trembling finger at Natalie. "Natalie, what nonsense are you spouting in front of all these reporters? Are you trying to destroy the Cross Group? You bitch!"
With a cry, Marie raised her hand to slap Natalie.
But Natalie was faster. Before anyone could react, she struck first, landing a crisp slap across Marie's face.
Just then, a woman emerged from the car in the video.
She was also in a state of undress, her hair a mess.
"Look, the woman! Who is that?"
All the reporters craned their necks, trying to get a clear look at the woman's face.
Marie shrieked frantically, "You idiots, turn it off now!"
A technician stammered in panic, "We... we can't!"
In a fit of rage, Darren grabbed a chair and hurled it at the giant screen.
The sound of shattering glass made the reporters jump, but it was quickly followed by a collective groan of disappointment.
Just a few more seconds, and they would have seen the woman's face clearly.
They would have known for sure if it was Marie. But the screen was destroyed.

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
