At the hospital.

Four security guards stood watch outside Mr. Ward’s room.

Getting inside wouldn’t be easy.

Victoria saw the guards and her eyes grew cold.

Did they really think this could save Mr. Ward’s life? He could not be allowed to live.

With a ferocious expression, Victoria tried to barge into the room but was immediately blocked by the guards.

“Who are you? No one is allowed near this room except medical personnel.”

“Get out of my way!” Victoria snarled. “I need to see someone!”

“I told you, you can’t go in. Are you deaf?”

“The person you’re looking for isn’t in there. Get lost!”

The guards formed an impassable wall.

“Natalie, I know you’re in there! Get out here!” Victoria shrieked, refusing to give up. “Natalie, come out!”

Her loud shouting agitated the guards. “Where did this crazy woman come from? You’re interfering with our work. Scram!”

One of the guards gave her a light push. Victoria immediately fell to the floor and began wailing, slapping her hands against the tiles.

“Everyone, come look! They’re hitting me! Someone call the police! Help!”

The guards exchanged looks. The old woman was trying to frame them.

“Hey… I didn’t hit you! What are you yelling about? Shut up.”

Just then, Darren arrived and saw the scene, his face contorting with rage.

“You bastards! How dare you touch my mother!”

He lunged forward and started throwing punches at the security guards.

The commotion outside caused Natalie, who was fast asleep, to frown and slowly open her eyes.

“Don’t hurt my son! Don’t hurt him! Somebody help, help!”

Victoria and Darren. What were they doing here?

Natalie’s gaze fell on the comatose Mr. Ward lying in the hospital bed. Her brow furrowed, and her eyes turned cold.

They were here for Marie. So Marie was getting desperate.

And they were certainly willing to go to great lengths for her.

“I’ll have them dealt with.”

As Terence started to get up, Natalie grabbed his hand in a panic. “Wait!”

Terence looked down at her hand on his. He hadn’t quite heard what she said; the moment she touched him, his heart had skipped a beat.

Natalie also realized it was inappropriate to be holding his hand and quickly let go.

“I mean, I’ll go see for myself. I want to see just how far they’re willing to go for Marie.”
