Natalie snatched the vials and looked at them. It was an anticholinergic drug: scopolamine.
Natalie’s gaze was chilling. “Are you sure you brought this to the right room?”
The nurse insisted, “The medicine is correct; it’s all been verified. Please don’t interfere with patient care!”
Victoria said angrily, “Natalie, stop trying to change the subject! You’re despicable, and you owe us an explanation.”
Natalie’s eyes were cold. “For Marie’s sake, you’d stoop to anything, wouldn’t you?”
“What are you talking about? I haven’t done anything for Marie! I’m here because you bankrupted the Cross Group.”
“Did you think you could cause a scene out here while this nurse slipped in problematic drugs, and get away with it?”
“Problematic drugs? The hospital prescribes what the patient needs.”
“This is scopolamine. It’s known for its strong anticholinergic effects, blocking acetylcholine from binding with receptors and affecting the nervous system. Is this a drug Mr. Ward should be taking?”
Seeing the vial, the nurse’s face paled. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry, I must have grabbed the wrong one! This is for the patient in the next room. I’m so sorry, I’m new here.”
“Trying to kill someone, and you think a simple ‘sorry’ is enough?”
Victoria was also stunned. She had only been instructed by Marie to cause a scene at the door. Marie had said she would handle the rest. So this was her plan.
“Terence, don’t mind me for being blunt, but for a woman like Natalie who’s just a shameless social climber, do you really think she’ll stick with you for life now that you’re disabled? Don’t be surprised when she cheats on you!”
Terence’s brow tightened. “You seem to think that because the Cross family is bankrupt and your house is gone, you have nothing left to lose.”
Victoria’s face grew ugly. Terence said icily, “The company is gone, the house is gone, but at least you still have your life. If you’re so determined to be a thorn in our side that you don't even want that, I don’t mind sending you to meet your maker.”
Victoria’s face turned green. After all, Terence had destroyed the Cross Group without breaking a sweat. What was taking her life to him?
Darren had originally planned to compete with Terence, unwilling to give up on Natalie so easily. But after the Cross Group went bankrupt, he realized reality was far crueler than he had imagined. The gap between him and Terence was like the difference between heaven and earth.
Unwilling to accept defeat, Darren said, “Terence, I never knew you were so deeply insecure. Are you afraid Natalie will come back to me? Is that why you destroyed my company, to ruin me completely? How pathetic. To think the great Terence Lockwood is just an insecure, pitiful man!”

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
