Angela looked at him with disdain. “Still protecting her? Then why did you let your ex-wife get away in the first place? As I recall, you cheated on her with your sister-in-law, Marie. That’s why Natalie divorced you. So don’t act so devoted now.”
Darren’s eyes turned glacial. “That’s nonsense. I never cheated with Marie. The moment she married my brother, she became nothing more than my sister-in-law!”
“Is that so? But the tabloids were full of stories about you two.”
“What happened between her and me is none of your business!”
“Stop right there!”
Angela called after Darren. He turned back, his gaze cold. “What is it?”
“It seems you’re still not over your ex-wife. But with the Cross Group bankrupt, you’re like a stray dog. Do you really think she’d choose you over Terence? She’s not blind.”
Angela’s words infuriated Darren.
He slammed her against the wall.
“She’s mine. She’ll always be mine, and no one can take her from me!”
His eyes were blazing, and the intensity of his stare sent a chill down Angela’s spine.
Darren was furious, but then he thought, what did it matter what she thought? Why was he explaining himself to her?
He let go and walked away. Angela, ignored, was indignant. What did he take her for?
She was the heiress of the Everhart Group!
No one but Terence was allowed to treat her with such an attitude.
“Darren, stop!”
Seeing him stop and watching the expression on his face, Angela knew he was wavering.
“You don’t need to be so proud,” Angela said haughtily. “There’s no shame in working under me. After all, I am Miss Everhart. I can give you anything you desire.”
Darren said coldly, “This is a partnership, nothing more. You can consider it an investment. I guarantee I won’t disappoint you. But as for being your lapdog, don’t even think about it.”
“How dare you speak to me like that? You’re the one who needs me right now. You’re the one who needs help.”
“You’re wrong. We both get what we want. I need you to help the Cross Group make a comeback, and you need me to win Natalie back. Otherwise, you’ll never measure up to Natalie, and Terence will never choose you.”
“How dare you! How dare you say I’m not as good as Natalie!”
“To most people, you might seem better. But in my eyes, and in Terence’s, you can’t compare to her. Of course, you don’t care what I think. You care what Terence thinks.”
Angela was about to explode. She thought she had just tamed another subordinate, but instead, she found herself completely intimidated by this man’s presence.

I think Terence must know something isn't right about Angela, that's why he agreed to figure it out....
Marie needs to be gone, she has caused enough trouble for Natalie. This is getting boring!...
This fiasco needs to end. Natalie and Terrance need to be together and in my mind somehow those twins are Natalie’s....
Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
