Hearing this, Hanley's face lit up with excitement. “Did you hear that, Lucas? Our Cross Group is about to hit the big time. But your daddy? He's been kicked out of the Lockwood family and he's not the CEO of the Lockwood Group anymore. Now your daddy is a broken man, Lucas. He’s nothing compared to mine?”
Lucas's expression darkened. He hadn't expected the Cross Group to be able to rise again.
However, the Cross Group, in its current state, was nowhere near worth a ten-billion-dollar investment from the Everhart Group.
The Everhart Group was the leading conglomerate in Valeronne. The person in charge wouldn't be foolish enough to make such a losing deal.
“You're just dazzled by the money. The Cross Group isn't worth a ten-billion-dollar investment. What do you think they paid for that money with?”
Lucas couldn't figure out why the Everhart Group would invest ten billion dollars in the bankrupt Cross Group, but he sensed that there was more to the story.
After all, the Cross Group was already bankrupt. Taking it over wouldn't cost more than a few hundred million. Why invest ten billion? A deal like that was clearly not normal.
Hanley was taken aback by Lucas's words but stubbornly retorted.
“You’re talking nonsense. I think you're just jealous that my daddy's about to make it big. You’re envious, aren't you? A rundown house, a crippled daddy, a mute sister… you’ve had quite a fall from grace for a young Lockwood heir!”
Seeing Hanley humiliate Lucas, Natalie said angrily, “Hanley! When did you become so cruel and spiteful? Even if the Cross family is about to make it big, you should just enjoy your wealth and fortune. Why do you have to put others down? And are you really so sure you're in a position to look down on him?”
Although Lucas was young, he had learned a lot from being around Terence. He already had a knack for investing and was destined to become a business titan in Aurelis.
As things stood, Hanley was nowhere near Lucas's level.
Hanley said angrily, “Mommy, why are you still defending them? Look! Daddy is about to make a comeback. The three of us can be a happy family. Why do you have to stick with a cripple, a mute, and a stubborn brat!”
“Angela is here too! It seems what Darren said is all true.”
“I was a bit skeptical about what Darren was saying, but with Angela here, this is a done deal. It looks like the Cross Group really is going to make a comeback.”
Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Angela walked proudly onto the stage, her eyes locked on Natalie.
*Watch this, Natalie*, she thought. *I can bring the bankrupt Cross Group back from the dead.*
*What can you give Terence, who gave up his position as CEO of the Lockwood Group for you?*
She wanted to make Natalie understand the difference between them. And she wanted to make Terence understand that she was the one who was most suitable for him.

I think Terence must know something isn't right about Angela, that's why he agreed to figure it out....
Marie needs to be gone, she has caused enough trouble for Natalie. This is getting boring!...
This fiasco needs to end. Natalie and Terrance need to be together and in my mind somehow those twins are Natalie’s....
Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
