After firing off one last threat, Victoria turned to leave but was blocked by Marcus Ward.

Victoria looked at Marcus Ward, then at Natalie, her mind racing.

Marcus Ward walked over to Natalie. “Sister, did you not like any of the houses I showed you? If you don’t, just tell me where you’d like to live, and I’ll buy it for you right now.”

“I think this place is fine.”

“But seeing you like this breaks Mom and Dad’s hearts. Mom’s headaches have been so bad lately that she can’t get out of bed. She wanted to visit you but was afraid you’d find her annoying, so she sent me instead.”
