Today was Simon's first day as president of the Lockwood Group. He had specifically ordered the entire building to be lavishly decorated, creating a grand, over-the-top spectacle to mark the occasion. He had also invited all the major media outlets to grandly announce his new title.
For a moment, he was on top of the world.
"Grandfather, this is fantastic. Today I finally become the president of the Lockwood Group. That damn cripple can't challenge my position anymore."
"It's only right that you become president. What is a cripple doing running the Lockwood Group? It's an embarrassment to the Lockwood family!"
"Grandfather, my older brother called me yesterday. He told me to do a good job. It was the first time he's ever praised me like that."
"While your brother may be a man of few words, he truly cares about you. You must work hard and not disappoint him."
"Grandfather, you're still the one who dotes on me the most, giving me this Aurelis fortune."
"If not to you, should I have given it to that cripple?"
"You really do spoil me the most, Grandfather. I have a surprise for you."
"What surprise?"
Simon said mysteriously, "Grandmother is here today, too."
Edgar Lockwood's face instantly darkened. He was silent for a moment before saying, "Your grandmother is in poor health. How could you make her fly all the way here? What are you thinking?"
"You're so concerned about her, Grandfather, worried about her every little discomfort."
Edgar Lockwood turned his head and saw an elderly but regally dressed woman standing behind them.
"Daphne, what are you doing here? You didn't even tell me you were coming. I would have picked you up."
Daphne Lockwood coughed lightly. "Simon and I just wanted to surprise you. Besides, Simon came to get me. He's always so thoughtful."
Daphne patted the back of Simon's hand and then said cheerfully, "Edgar, we haven't been back to Aurelis in fifty years. It feels good to be back. Why don't we just stay here from now on? A person needs to find their way back home in the end."
Edgar Lockwood was taken aback. "You want to stay in Mariston Vale?"
Daphne feigned a pitiful look. "Can't I, Edgar? We've been adrift in Marentis for fifty years. We have to come home sometime. I don't know how much longer this old body of mine will last, and I don't want to become a ghost in Marentis."

I think Terence must know something isn't right about Angela, that's why he agreed to figure it out....
Marie needs to be gone, she has caused enough trouble for Natalie. This is getting boring!...
This fiasco needs to end. Natalie and Terrance need to be together and in my mind somehow those twins are Natalie’s....
Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
